Growth Guide Coordinator
The African Management Initiative (AMI)
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support Growth Guides in planning and delivering program activities across 15 districts
- Guide MSME identification within VSLAs, SACCOs, and partner networks
- Conduct field visits to verify training delivery and ensure alignment with program expectations
- Work with local leaders and stakeholders to ensure smooth field coordination and execution
- Ensure Growth Guides are equipped with the knowledge and facilitation skills required to support MSMEs effectively
- Reinforce Growth Guides’ learning journey with AMI, identifying gaps and providing targeted coaching and mentorship
- Promote continuous learning through the AMI Learn platform
- Maintain regular communication with Growth Guides through structured one-on-one check-ins
- Monitor progress against targets and provide ongoing performance feedback
- Offer problem-solving support and recognize achievements to sustain motivation and engagement
- Review and validate MSME diagnostics, training records, and activity data captured through ODK and AMI FieldPro
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of field data
- Investigate discrepancies, triangulate findings with field feedback, and support monthly performance reviews
- Conduct field monitoring visits to verify that training sessions and MSME engagements are delivered as planned
- Assess the quality, relevance, and impact of support provided to MSMEs
- Gather insights and feedback to strengthen program delivery and effectiveness
- Coordinate with consortium partners to plan and implement joint activities
- Support mobilization of Growth Guides and MSMEs for partner-led engagements
- Align expectations, roles, and communication across stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration
- Support Growth Guides in effectively using AMI FieldPro for data collection and activity tracking
- Enable adoption of the AMI Learn App to support continuous learning
- Identify recurring challenges and escalate platform-related issues to the technical team
- Work closely with the MEL team and partners to assess program performance and progress
- Analyze insights from field implementation to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Contribute to program learning, reporting, and future program design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ progressive experience coordinating grassroots or community-based programs, preferably within NGO, development, or humanitarian contexts
- Proven experience working directly with communities, local authorities, and field-based teams
- Demonstrated program and project management experience (essential)
- Experience working in rural or low-resource settings is highly desirable
- Facilitation experience is an added advantage
