ROLE SUMMARY

Renew Capital is seeking an experienced QuickBooks consultant for a short-term project to review, restructure and optimize our finance systems. The goal is to build a scalable, centralized framework in QuickBooks Online that integrates finance and admin functions across multiple African subsidiaries and donor-funded projects. This role is ideal for someone with deep QuickBooks expertise, strong financial systems instincts, and experience building efficient, automated workflows in growing international organizations. This is a remote role open to candidates based in Africa.

Key Responsibilities

QuickBooks Architecture & Optimization

  • Conduct a full review of our current QuickBooks setup across parent and subsidiary entities.
  • Redesign chart of accounts, class tracking and project tagging to support multi-country operations and donor reporting.
  • Ensure clean entity setup, proper handling of intercompany transactions and consolidated reporting functionality.
  • Implement structure for tracking project-level budgets, costs and invoices.

Workflow Automation & Systems Integration

  • Integrate QuickBooks with HubSpot (CRM), BambooHR and internal reporting dashboards.
  • Automate key workflows (e.g. invoice generation, payment tracking, report distribution) using tools like Zapier, Make or custom APIs.
  • Identify areas where AI tools (e.g. document parsers, GPT-based classification) can reduce manual work.

Documentation & Handoff

  • Develop clear SOPs and documentation for ongoing maintenance by the internal finance team.
  • Train relevant staff and deliver a transition plan with phased implementation steps and ongoing recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in QuickBooks Online system design and administration (multi-entity experience preferred).
  • Proven track record integrating QuickBooks with other business systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and project-based financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms (Zapier, Make, Power Automate) and modern finance ops tools.
  • Experience supporting finance teams in fast-growing or international organizations.
  • Clear, proactive communicator with strong documentation habits.
