We are seeking a Financial Process Improvement Manager for a regular position to work within Accounting & Finance Department at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station: Seoul, Korea)

Job Description

Process Improvement Lead/Manager will drive process excellence, strengthen balance sheet, revenue, cost control in CORE units, and lead finance transformation in IVI. This role will oversee the optimization and standardization of end-to-end finance processes, enhance operational efficiency, reporting, monthly/year-end process, and financial risk management to safeguard audit readiness.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Process Improvement

  • Lead the review, redesign, standardization, and continuous improvement of key Finance processes, in collaboration with Accounting & Finance team and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive process improvements ensuring sustainable development and outcome across:
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing and reporting
  • Accounting and financial management with focus on Core
  • Financial reporting
  • Treasury

2. Financial Systems & Automation

  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate Finance processes and enhance financial systems.
  • Partner with ERP, IT, and Finance teams to optimize workflows, management reporting, financial controls, and data analysis.
  • Drive the automation and continuous improvement of management reporting and report production.

3. Core Unit & Revenue/Expense, balance sheet control

  • Ensure accurate Core accounting, reporting, and effective control of revenue, expenses, net assets, cash and other balance sheet items across Core entities/units.
  • Drive the development and enhancement of financial systems to strengthen financial control and reporting.
  • Develop report(s) and monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identify variances, and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Conduct monthly Core cash forecasting and variance analysis.

4. Reporting, Analysis, year-end process, and vendor approvals, audit readiness

  • Actively contribute and collaborate on budgeting, reporting, and analysis for diverse stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees (BoT), while enhancing data quality, accuracy, and the generation of meaningful analysis and insights.
  • Contribute to a successful audit outcome, supporting year-end activities, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

1. Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent
  • (Accounting, Economics, or Finance, Technology)

2. Related Field Work Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Planning, Analysis, Control, Process Improvement
  • Revenue/Cost/Balance sheet
  • Process improvement, Not-for-Profit reporting

3. Technical and Professional Skills / Knowledge

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, project accounting and financial reporting is valued
  • Proficient in methodologies for streamlining and optimizing workflows
  • ERP/financial systems: budget, payment, and invoicing platforms and others

5. Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in English is needed. Fluency in Korean is a merit
