We are seeking a Financial Accountant for a regular position to work within the Accounting & Finance Department at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station: Seoul, Korea)
Job Description
This job is responsible for supporting general accounting and finance operations, including revenue and accounts
receivable management, monthly/yearly closing, and donor/project financial reporting. This position also assists with
internal control, audit preparation, and VAT reporting for overseas offices.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. General accounting
- Support the monthly and annual financial closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare regular financial data after closing, monthly closing, and year-end closing.
- Maintain and update Balance Sheet (B/S) accounts and related schedules.
- Perform daily Bank reconciliation and ensure alignment between actual cash transaction and system.
- Maintain general ledger including preparing journal entries, account analysis, and account receivable reconciliation.
- Assist with recording of the project’s residual fund on a regular basis, communicating with project with if, any variance occurred.
2. Account Receivables
- Responsible for day-to-day Revenue / AR operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
- Reconciliation of AR accounts, monitor AR aging and ensure timely collection with accurate AR clearing and reconciliation.
- Provide fund-in list, a summary of both a fund from donor and cash basis donation.
3. Prepare project information & provide reporting data
- Review project expenses to ensure donor fund usage complies with donor and organizational requirements.
- Prepare financial reports requested by donors and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project and program teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare quarterly report on the expense of Director General.
- Support budgets & forecasts procedure.
- Support new joiners in project team to ensure smooth finance-project team cooperation.
4. Perform other finance-related affairs
- Support VAT tax reporting for overseas offices, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Support internal control and internal/external audit-related tasks.
- Support ad-hoc financial data and analysis as required in a timely and accurate manner.
- Contribute to improving ERP and necessary finance templates.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
1. Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- (Business, Accounting, or Economics)
2. Related Field Work Experience
- Over 3 years
3. Technical and Professional Skills / Knowledge
- Knowledge of accounting and ERP
4. Key Competency
- Communication & Commitment to Continuous Learning.
- Detail-minded; multi-tasks; analytical and problem-solving skill.
- Familiar with MS office applications.
- Resilience.
5. Language Proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Korean and English under complex business circumstances in a clear/concise manner.
