Job Description
At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.
Our headquarters is based in Gothenburg, Sweden and we are now opening up a R&D hub in Los Angeles, which will focus on the advancement of Heart’s hybrid-electric propulsion system and other key technologies.
Your mission
As IT Specialist, you would be responsible for building and maintaining IT infrastructure that the Heart engineering team relies on to do their work effectively and securely. You will report to the Manager of Software Engineering. As an early hire within the organization, you will lay the foundation for engineering IT systems, including the in office network infrastructure and enterprise engineering IT systems. You’ll be working side by side with engineers to identify bottlenecks and friction in the development process, and solving those problems with creative and automated solutions.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure systems
- Planning and executing the implementation of new backup and recovery solutions.
- Managing and maintaining existing IT infrastructure systems, including cloud-based backup and storage solutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of new systems.
You will report to the Software Manager and your place of work will be at our office located in El Segundo, CA (Los Angeles).
Skills & Requirements
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience designing, deploying, and managing IT infrastructure.
- Experience working with engineering teams to provision new hardware, infrastructure and software.
- Experience writing Python, C, Java or a similar language.
- Strong operating systems' proficiency including Linux.
- Experience with Active Directory, and multi-platform authentication and identification environments.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
- Strong proficiency in networking protocols and infrastructure (Ethernet, TCP, IP, HTTP, DNS, ICMP, DNS, DHCP, IPv4, Routing, LAN/WAN).
- Experience with public cloud systems (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience designing, building, and implementing Single Sign-on (SSO) systems (SAML/OIDC).
- Experience writing scripts to automate routine tasks.
- Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
- Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry
Education
- Bachelor’s or above in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar engineering discipline.
