Role Summary:

We are on the lookout for an experienced Plasma-CFD Engineer with expertise in high-speed and high-temperature plasma, as well as multiphase gas flow modeling. The ideal candidate will be proficient in COMSOL Multiphysics or similar CFD software suites, with a strong background in plasma physics and engineering. This role is critical to modeling and optimizing the dynamics of plasma flows within our reactor designs, ensuring the highest efficiency and purity in our silicon production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed CFD models of high-temperature plasma flows and gas-phase reactions within the silicon production reactors.
  • Apply advanced CFD and plasma simulation techniques to study the behavior of multiphase flows, thermal effects, and plasma-material interactions.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to integrate plasma flow models with chemical and thermal models for comprehensive reactor simulations.
  • Utilize AI-driven methodologies to optimize reactor designs and process parameters for improved efficiency and output quality.
  • Analyze simulation results to identify improvement areas and propose innovative solutions to complex flow dynamics and thermal management challenges.
  • Contribute to the validation and calibration of simulation models through experimental data.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in CFD, plasma physics, and relevant engineering practices to continuously improve simulation accuracy and efficiency.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Plasma Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in CFD modeling and simulation, specifically with COMSOL Multiphysics or equivalent CFD software suites.
  • Solid understanding of plasma physics, particularly in the context of high-speed and high-temperature environments.
  • Proficiency in modeling multiphase flows, gas dynamics, and plasma-material interactions.
  • Experience with integrating simulation models into multi-physics and multi-scale frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven optimization techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Strong team collaboration capabilities and communication skills, with proficiency in English.

About Green14

GREEN14 (Green 14 AB) was founded in 2021, aiming to build a large-scale green silicon production facility in the Nordics. GREEN14 will produce 50 thousand tons of green solar grade silicon by 2030. By doing this, the company will contribute to the decarbonizing of the European silicon industry and secure European demand for this critical raw material.
