Role Summary:

GREEN14 seeks a versatile Product Engineer with a background in Chemical Engineering or a related field and a robust portfolio of operational and safety skills, including experience with flammable goods and heavy machinery operation. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production facilities, particularly within high-risk environments such as semiconductor and metallurgy industries. The ideal candidate will contribute both mechanical expertise and chemical engineering insights, ensuring operational excellence and environmental safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems and solutions to support silicon production processes.
  • Collaborate with the chemical engineering team to enhance system efficiencies and integrate safety protocols in the handling of flammable materials.
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including forklifts and overhead cranes, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with environmental and workplace safety regulations.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment, with a focus on reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.
  • Provide technical support and training on mechanical systems and safety procedures to other team members.
  • Document and report on system performance, maintenance schedules, and safety incidents to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a degree or significant coursework in Chemical Engineering.
  • Valid forklift license and proficiency in operating overhead cranes.
  • Extensive experience handling flammable goods and working in regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in the semiconductor or metallurgy industries, with an understanding of the specific challenges and safety considerations in these fields.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace environmental safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills, with proficiency in English.

About Green14

GREEN14 (Green 14 AB) was founded in 2021, aiming to build a large-scale green silicon production facility in the Nordics. GREEN14 will produce 50 thousand tons of green solar grade silicon by 2030. By doing this, the company will contribute to the decarbonizing of the European silicon industry and secure European demand for this critical raw material.
