We are now recruiting a Chief Medical Officer. This role provides medical leadership for all ongoing and future activities globally, ensuring that our scientific and clinical efforts focus where the potential is the highest today and in a rapidly evolving future of cell therapies.
Your Responsibilities
In this senior global role, you will provide overarching medical leadership for Cellcolabs and guide the company’s strategic direction. You will:
Define and lead Cellcolabs’ global clinical strategy, ensuring that our efforts focus on areas of highest clinical relevance, patient value, and long-term potential within a rapidly evolving MSC and ATMP landscape.
Serve as the company’s chief medical authority, ensuring medical excellence, patient safety, ethical standards, and evidence-based decision-making across all programs.
Shape and drive the Medical Affairs agenda, including clinical strategy, evidence generation plans, real-world insights, medical communications, and scientific exchange with clinicians and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
Provide medical leadership to clinical development planning, ensuring that clinical priorities, study concepts, endpoints, and patient populations align with unmet medical needs and the evolving global therapeutic landscape.
Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with clinical experts, investigators, medical societies, and external partners, positioning Cellcolabs as a trusted scientific and clinical leader.
Guide the organization’s understanding of emerging clinical trends, evolving standards of care, competitor activity, and new therapeutic opportunities, translating insights into strategic direction.
Ensure high-quality, accurate, and compliant medical communication – including scientific narratives, benefit–risk communication, and messaging for external stakeholders.
Provide medical leadership and input to cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical Success, Regulatory, Marketing and Commercial teams, ensuring alignment with medical strategy and patient needs.
Represent Cellcolabs at a senior level in external interactions with regulators, clinical partners, healthcare professionals, and scientific stakeholders, serving as a strong ambassador for our medical mission.
Act as a key member of the executive management team, advising the CEO and leadership on medical strategy, clinical opportunities, and long-term positioning.
Qualifications
Required
Licensed physician with board certification in a relevant medical specialty; haematology, immunology, transfusion medicine, or anaesthesiology/intensive care are particularly relevant.
Demonstrated leadership capability and proven success working cross-functionally in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Demonstrated experience of representing an organization publicly, including delivering high-impact presentations, participating in panel discussions, and engaging confidently in podium- or scientific forum settings.
Exceptional executive communication skills, including the ability to articulate medical strategy, scientific concepts, and clinical insights to diverse audiences such as clinicians, regulators, investors, and senior leadership.
Substantial experience from the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including Medical Affairs leadership.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, including EU/EMA regulations, LVFS, tissue establishment regulations, and ATMP guidelines.
Meritorious
Research experience; a PhD or ongoing scientific engagement is highly valued.
Experience with cell therapy, ATMPs, clinical trials, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Experience working in or holding responsibility for a tissue establishment or other regulated medical/biological facility.
