About this role
The VP Legal is the head of the company’s legal department, reporting to the Chief Regulation and Legal Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the company’s affairs and operations, including supporting the negotiation and enforcement of contracts, and providing legal guidance on intellectual property, compliance, privacy and data protection, employment matters, and corporate governance.
In addition, the VP Legal contributes to the company’s governance initiatives and policy impact efforts. This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution, requiring both a visionary approach and practical legal expertise.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company’s legal team (4–5 legal professionals across Israel and the U.S.)
- Manage and negotiate key client and partnership agreements with hospitals and healthcare providers globally
- Oversee and negotiate vendor agreements, and support procurement and employee wellbeing initiatives
- Support corporate transactions, including M&A, as well as general corporate and equity matters
- Own Privacy & Governance: maintain overall legal accountability for the global data privacy function, including direct supervision of the Director of Privacy
- Own Compliance: maintain overall accountability for company compliance requirements.
- Establish and implement internal legal operations and processes to ensure compliance and fulfillment of contractual obligations
- Build legal infrastructure to support expansion into new jurisdictions
- Collaborate with senior management on legal strategy and execution
- Set high standards for scalable and robust legal practices across all areas of responsibility
- Manage external legal counsel and service providers
- Provide cross-functional legal guidance to various departments, including commercial, IP, corporate governance, labor law, finance, HR, and investor relations
Requirements
- 6+ years of legal experience in a high-tech company, including leadership or senior roles within a legal function, and managing a team of at least 4 people (must)
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, fintech) – preferred; U.S. healthcare experience – a strong advantage
- Proven experience managing a legal team and building legal and privacy operations and infrastructure
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating software, technology, and commercial agreements, as well as IP-related matters; experience working with the U.S. market – required
- Experience in establishing company-wide legal processes and frameworks
- Experience leading end-to-end due diligence and M&A projects
- LL.B. degree or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
