We are seeking a Backend Tech Lead to join a Full-Stack team that is part of the group responsible for Aidoc's main product line, the Imaging platform.

This team focuses on the radiologist's experience, providing the primary access point to Aidoc's AI. The team manages the application installed on the radiologist's computer and the Python-based Gateway service that delivers data to its endpoints.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of our backend services, encompassing architecture, coding, and developer mentorship.

• Lead Full-Stack Development: Lead the design and development of scalable and reliable backend services that power Aidoc's radiologist-facing applications.
• Architectural Leadership: Drive architectural discussions and make key technical decisions within the team's domain, ensuring high quality, performance, and maintainability
• Ownership: Receive end-to-end ownership for product features from ideation to deployment, and work closely with Product and UX to bring the team’s imagination to life.
• Development Work: Contribute hands-on to the implementation of backend services and occasionally to frontend components when needed.
• Mentorship: Mentor and support engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions, promoting technical excellence and best practices.
• Incorporate Best Practices: Champion best practices for code quality, testing, and CI/CD processes to enhance delivery consistency and reliability.
• Strategic Collaboration and Influence: Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to ensure alignment and technical coherence across the Imaging Platform

• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing complex, production-grade systems.
• Proven experience building and maintaining backend services end-to-end: architecture, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• At least 2 years of experience in technical leadership — guiding design and implementation within a team or across multiple components.
• Previous responsibility of mentoring engineers and scaling engineering culture
• Demonstrated ability to lead high-scale, high-quality technical projects, applying best practices such as design reviews and architectural trade-offs.
• Deep understanding of system design, APIs, and distributed systems principles.
• Strong coding skills in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, Java, C#).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS or equivalent), containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; able to lead through influence and example.
• A proactive mindset, strong sense of ownership, and passion for building well-engineered, impactful products.
• Experience and understanding of production monitoring and observability tools.
• Advantage: Familiarity with frontend technologies and frameworks — able to contribute occasionally across the stack.
