Digital & Innovation Junior Project Leader

The Digital & Innovation Junior Project Leader supports the delivery of digital and innovation projects across the organization. The role focuses on assisting project teams and business stakeholders in planning, coordinating, documenting, and following up on digital initiatives that improve business processes and operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will contribute to project execution by supporting workshops, preparing project documentation, tracking actions and timelines, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and helping ensure that projects progress according to agreed plans and standards.
Project Coordination & Delivery Support
Support the planning and coordination of digital and innovation projects.
Assist in defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria under the guidance of senior team members.
Help prepare and maintain project plans, timelines, task trackers, and status updates.
Follow up on project actions, deadlines, and dependencies with project stakeholders.
Support the delivery of projects by coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and business users.
Help ensure that project documentation is complete, accurate, and regularly updated.
Governance, Risk & Compliance Support
Support the identification and tracking of project risks, issues, and dependencies.
Escalate blockers or major risks to the project lead or management when needed.
Help ensure that project activities follow internal standards, security guidelines, and compliance requirements.
Contribute to project reporting, meeting minutes, and status updates for management.
Workshops, Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
Assist in preparing and organizing workshops, interviews, and co-creation sessions with business stakeholders.
Support collaboration between business users, designers, developers, data teams, and external partners.
Capture meeting notes, user needs, business requirements, and agreed action points.
Help coordinate logistics, timelines, and participant engagement for innovation activities or events.
Promote good communication and collaboration within project teams.
Methodology & Continuous Improvement
Apply basic project management practices such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches depending on the project context.
Support the use of project management tools, templates, and reporting standards.
Contribute to capturing lessons learned and identifying simple improvements in project delivery practices.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Digital & Innovation team.
Business & Innovation Contribution
Support the analysis of business needs and help translate them into clear project requirements.
Participate in mapping user journeys, documenting pain points, and identifying improvement opportunities.
Contribute to research, benchmarking, and preparation of materials related to digital and innovation initiatives.
Help identify synergies across projects and share relevant observations with the team.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A Master’s degree (from a top business school, engineering school, or equivalent program)
Experience in managing innovation process and project management
Strong interest in digital transformation and new technologies
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, V-model, or hybrid approaches
Ability to support project planning, task tracking, timeline follow-up, and documentation
Familiarity with identifying risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation needs under the guidance of senior team members
Ability to contribute to project reporting, meeting minutes, status updates, and presentation materials
Interest in innovation processes, design thinking, and workshop preparation or facilitation support
Good understanding of digital environments, business applications, and emerging technologies
Knowledge in UX/UI, user experience, low-code tools, or automation platforms would be considered an advantage

ADDITIONAL NOTES
The role is based at the AGL Expertise Center Kigali, Norrsken House.
Occasional collaboration with Digital Department, IT, business teams, support teams, and AGL entities across several countries may be required.
Comfortable working full time at the office (no remote)
Professional English is required; French is an advantage.
