Design Engineer, Brand & Growth - HealthTech
Design, Sales & Business Development · Full-time
Stockholm, Sweden
Velora Health, AI-native HealthTech · Stockholm, hybrid · Full-time
TL;DR: Own the journey from first click to started treatment, and make every step feel premium. You design it, build it and ship it yourself.
About Velora Health
Velora Health is a rapidly growing AI HealthTech startup on a mission to address the leading causes of preventable death. Our goal is bold yet simple: a longer and healthier life for more people, through the fusion of personalized care and a holistic approach to health.
We started by tackling one of the biggest global health issues: obesity, which affects nearly 1 billion people worldwide. Through our platform and digital health clinic at velora.se we have already helped thousands of patients lose weight and keep it off, which means they live longer and with fewer diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In Sweden alone, 2 million people could live longer with Velora. We are now expanding beyond obesity into broader chronic care, giving people access to the latest and most effective research-based treatments.
We are AI-native and use AI across the whole company. Today we are a 20-person team across clinical care, engineering, growth and operations, and we are moving more of our marketing in-house.
About the role
Someone sees an ad, lands on a page, fills in a health questionnaire, pays, identifies with BankID and meets a clinician for the first time. Every one of those steps decides whether they start treatment or leave. You will own that journey.
This is a rare role that combines growth and craft. You care as much about whether a page converts as about whether it looks and feels right, and you do not accept trading one for the other.
We are not looking for someone to execute our ideas, and not for someone who hands off designs for others to build. You design it, build it and ship it yourself. You will have broad creative license: we expect you to show us what good looks like, argue for it and put it live.
Healthcare adds another layer. A page that sells also has to be medically accurate, and there are clear limits on what we can say about treatment. You find the expression that works within those limits.
In healthcare, premium is not decoration. A landing page that feels cheap or an onboarding step that feels like a form is the difference between someone starting treatment and leaving.
What you'll do
• Shape where the Velora brand goes next: a clear visual and verbal direction that holds together across our website, ads, social and email.
• Own velora.se, our landing pages and the onboarding flow end to end: you design, build and ship them yourself, from first impression to started subscription.
• Own the full expression of every page: choose and direct images, edit short videos and write the copy, so it looks, feels and sounds like Velora.
• Design and ship landing pages for campaigns, segments and channels, fast enough that we can test new ideas every week.
• Rethink onboarding together with product and engineering, including health questionnaires, payment and identification, so it feels simple and trustworthy.
• Build and maintain a design system and components so new pages can be created quickly without losing quality.
• Translate the Velora brand into our digital touchpoints together with the person who owns our brand, and push it forward where it falls short.
• Work closely with growth on ads and campaigns so the click and the page tell the same story.
• Use data and experiments to find out what converts, and iterate.
You may be a good fit if you
• Have a clear point of view on brand. You can describe what a brand should feel like and turn it into a system others can use.
• Ship end to end. You take a page or flow from idea to live on your own, without waiting for an engineer to build it.
• Have a strong sense for what is premium. You see the difference between work that is good and work that is merely fine, and you can explain why.
• Have a feel for the whole expression, not only layout: you know which image works, can cut a short video and write a headline that sounds like us. You do this from day one, not after onboarding.
• Think in conversion: you understand how structure, copy, hierarchy and trust affect whether someone takes the next step.
• Have a portfolio of shipped, live work: websites, landing pages, onboarding or consumer products.
• Use AI as a core part of how you design, build and produce, understand where it adds value and where it misleads, and keep up with a field that changes every week.
• Have opinions and the confidence to hold them, and change your mind when the data says otherwise.
Strong candidates will have
• Experience building or evolving a brand identity or brand guidelines.
• Experience from subscription, D2C, fintech or health, where trust drives conversion.
• Hands-on experience with conversion optimisation and A/B testing.
• Experience creating ad creatives and paid social formats.
• An understanding of SEO and AI search, and how page structure and content affect how you get found.
• Experience with lifecycle and CRM: emails and messages that are part of the onboarding.
• Experience with influencer, UGC or campaign content.
Logistics
Location: Hybrid, with our office in Stockholm. We like to see each other in person about once a week, but it is not a requirement; work from where you work best.
Language: Fluent Swedish, spoken and written, is required. Our patients, our copy and our brand are Swedish.
Compensation: Monthly salary set by experience and scope.
Start: As soon as we find the right person.
We care more about what you can show than what is on your CV. There is no years-of-experience requirement. Apply even if you do not match every line above.
How we are different
We are a healthcare company that behaves like a product company. Design, product, engineering and growth work side by side, so one person can own the journey from ad to started treatment.
We use AI heavily across the company, and this role is built around it. Generating and testing copy variants, creating and editing images, cutting video, building pages with AI coding tools, prototyping five versions of a flow before lunch. You choose your own tools and we pay for them. You are still responsible for what you ship, and in healthcare that means knowing when the tool is wrong.
You will work directly with our growth team, product lead and the founders. There are no layers between you and the people who decide what we build.
We are 20 people today and growing. The people who join now will shape how we work, and several will build teams, own domains or take on roles that do not exist yet. Your scope here is set by what you take on, not by your title.
