About Submer

At Submer, we are redefining how data centers are built, integrated, and operated, with sustainability, efficiency, and innovation at the core. Our technology is designed to reduce environmental impact while improving performance and efficiency. We are a purpose-driven company with a passion for innovation and a growing global presence.

What impact you will have

You will lead the design, delivery, and optimization of electrical systems for high-density data centers, including conventional and direct liquid cooling (DLC) facilities. This role focuses on ensuring safe, resilient, and scalable electrical infrastructure—from utility interface and MV/LV distribution down to rack-level power delivery—supporting mission-critical environments and next-generation computing platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in mission-critical electrical systems, proven project delivery experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, client-facing environments.

What you’ll do

System Design & Integration

  • Lead end-to-end electrical system designs including MV, LV, UPS, generators, switchgear, busbars, PDUs, and rack-level distribution.
  • Develop schematics, one-line diagrams, grounding/bonding systems, and arc-flash studies.
  • Integrate designs with mechanical, IT, and controls systems, with a focus on DLC-specific interfaces and high-density compute environments.
  • Apply digital engineering tools such as Revit, BIM 360, ETAP, and SKM Power Tools.

Power Distribution Engineering

  • Perform load flow, short-circuit, selectivity, reliability, and arc-flash studies.
  • Specify and validate transformers, busbar systems, BESS, protective devices, and high-current cabling.
  • Evaluate redundancy schemes (N, N+1, 2N) and contribute to Tier certification compliance.
  • Support integration of renewable energy, modular power systems, and microgrid technologies.

Project Delivery & Commissioning

  • Support procurement, vendor qualification, and submittal reviews.
  • Oversee factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), commissioning, and handover.
  • Collaborate with EPCs, contractors, and vendors to ensure constructability, cost-effectiveness, and schedule adherence.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective measures for electrical issues during build and operation phases.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and global/local codes.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, test protocols, validation reports, and O&M manuals.
  • Conduct risk assessments, FMEA, and safety compliance plans for mission-critical systems.
  • Incorporate sustainability and PUE optimization strategies into design and operations.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with clients, architects, mechanical engineers, IT specialists, and commissioning teams.
  • Lead design reviews, client workshops, and technical presentations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development and recruitment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on DLC-specific power distribution and high-density compute solutions.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mission-critical electrical design and data center project delivery.
  • Strong expertise in power distribution from MV/LV down to rack-level (busbars, PDUs, server power delivery).
  • Experience with direct liquid cooling (DLC), high-density compute facilities, and modular architectures.
  • Proficiency with electrical design and analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Tier certification requirements, NEC/IEC codes, NFPA standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

What we offer

  • Attractive compensation package refleting your expertise and experience.
  • A great work environment characterised by friendliness, international diversity, flexibility, and a hybrid-friendly approach.
  • You´ll be part of a fast-growing scale-up with a mission to make a positive impact, offering an exciting career evolution.
