What Impact You Will Have

This is a crucial role in ensuring that the products distributed by industrial vendors and manufactured by Submer meet all the required quality standards and specifications to properly satisfy our Customer needs.

External Quality

You will manage the process from the initial stages of the vendor approval, guaranteeing and ensuring alignment towards quality standards between Submer and our 3rd parties. You will own the quality KPIs for each vendor, being solely responsible for their quality performance.

Internal Quality

You will collaborate with the existing quality team to define and adjust the internal processes to guarantee incoming / outgoing quality acceptance according to the defined level.

What You’ll Do

You will be involved in:

  • Internal Quality Control Inspections: conducting regular inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Supplier Quality Control Inspections: collaborating with suppliers to ensure that raw materials and components meet quality specifications. Conducting supplier audits and evaluations, as necessary.
  • Testing and Analysis: performing various tests and analyses on products using specialized equipment and techniques to identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from quality standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: documenting test results, inspection findings, and any deviations from quality standards accurately. Reporting findings to relevant stakeholders such as quality managers, production supervisors, or engineers.
  • Process Improvement: identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance product quality, efficiency, and consistency. This may involve suggesting modifications to manufacturing processes, equipment, or procedures.
  • Root Cause Analysis: investigating the root causes of quality issues or non-conformities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Training and Compliance: provide training to production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuous improvement and Root cause analysis: investigating the root causes of quality issues or non-conformities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions and working actively with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

To perform in this job, you’ll likely have:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Quality Control.
  • Technical Competence: Understanding and experience in Metal, electrical and chemical manufacturing processes, quality control methods, and relevant testing techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously inspect products and identify even minor defects or deviations from quality standards. Strong observational skills are crucial for this aspect of the role.
  • Orientation to data collection and KPI setting: Capability to define the proper Quality KPIs and commitment to use data as a source of truth in a methodical way.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze data and test results to identify trends, patterns, risks, or anomalies that may indicate quality issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Critical Thinking: The ability to critically analyze KPI data to identify root causes of performance issues and develop effective solutions is crucial. Critical thinking skills enable individuals to ask insightful questions, challenge assumptions, and make informed decisions based on data.
  • Regulatory Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, quality standards (such as ISO 9001), and compliance requirements is beneficial for ensuring products meet legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Knowledge in Six Sigma and lean Manufacturing methodologies: Understanding of these methodologies and experience in the implementation of processes and tools accordingly.
  • Experience in Communicating and training workshop staff in quality procedures.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence when working with vendors and our internal teams.
  • Experience working for a global organization.
