What Impact You Will Have

Submer is looking for a hands-on Back-end Developer will design and develop well-functioning, secured, and optimized for great performances applications. Are you in?

What You’ll Do

  • Work with development teams and product managers to design software solutions (functional and technical)
  • Develop and manage databases and applications to secure and optimize for great performance and scalability
  • Develop a secure and performance oriented software that integrates with databases, and external system (like Grafana).
  • Design and write effective and robust APIs following best practices.
  • Write software using best practices and clean code to ensure a high-quality software system.
  • Write tests to ensure software resilience.
  • Review your peers work as part of their design and development process.
  • Write and keep up to date the technical documentation of what has been delivered.
  • Monitor and maintain software in production.

What You’ll Need

To perform in this job, you’ll likely have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a back-end developer or in similar roles.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with our tech stack or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading software.
  • Experience working with agile frameworks and practices.
  • Proactive initiative and collaborative mindset in software design and product feature suggestions.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Valued familiarity with message-based communication protocols such as MQTT and SSE.
  • Knowledge of IoT (Internet Of Things) is a plus.
  • Experience with front-end development and frameworks (eg. React) is valued.
  • Highly desirable expertise in embedded systems, particularly microPCs.
