Founded in early 2019 in the Netherlands, Quadriz is today the largest carbon offset project developer in Paraguay, with local offices in Asunción and Alto Paraguay. Quadriz develops and manages nature-based solutions (NBS) through high-impact verified carbon offsetting projects. Quadriz is dedicated to conserve a maximum of the native forest lands of the Gran Chaco, South America’s second largest forest area. The Chaco forest area has one of the richest biodiversity concentrations on the planet, but sadly also ranks as one of the world’s absolute deforestation hotspots due to the region’s increasing cattle ranching industry. In October 2020, Quadriz announced the commencement of its first REDD+ project named “Corazón Verde del Chaco,” due to its location in the “green heart” of the Paraguayan Chaco. This high-impact project initially conserves 32,000 hectares (79,000 acres) of critical Chaco forest and is designed, registered, and verified under two leading carbon standards known as the VER.
