Assistant Chair of the Online BSN Nursing Program

Position Summary: Oklahoma Christian (OC) University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Chair of the Online BSN Nursing Program beginning July 2026. OC has a robust nursing program that includes two pathways: traditional (on-campus) and online. While faculty members are dedicated to specific instructional pathways, they engage in close collaboration to safeguard the fidelity of the curriculum and with program standards. This in-person position provides vital administrative support to the Program Chair. The Assistant Chair will lead efforts in curriculum design and review while assisting in the daily leadership of faculty and students to ensure student success and mission alignment. The teaching load for this position is 12 credit hours per academic year.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Leadership: Lead the design, development, and systematic review of the Online BSN curriculum to ensure evidence-based practices and clinical relevance.
  • Academic Quality Assurance: Oversee the mapping of curriculum to national accreditation standards (CCNE) and state board requirements.
  • Chair Support: Assist the Program Chair in administrative functions, including faculty scheduling, performance evaluations, and strategic planning.
  • Instructional Design Collaboration: Work with faculty to optimize course delivery within the online learning management system, ensuring a consistent and engaging student experience.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Coordinate the collection and analysis of student learning outcomes and data to drive continuous curricular improvement.
  • Faculty Mentorship: Support the recruitment and onboarding of adjunct faculty, providing guidance on curricular standards and university expectations.
  • Student Advocacy: Assist in resolving student concerns related to academic progression and curricular requirements.
  • Committee Service: Participate in departmental and university-wide committees as assigned by the Program Chair.
  • Mission Integration: Promote the mission and values of Oklahoma Christian University within the academic environment.
  • Maintain a teaching load of 12 credit hours per academic year in your specialty area or greatest program need.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Active member of a local church and aligned with OC’s Christian mission.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Nursing or related field.
  • Undergraduate teaching experience.
  • Experience in academic administration or program leadership.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and student data systems.
