Job Summary: The Graduate Admissions Counselor – College of Business serves as an important representative of Oklahoma Christian University’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) to prospective students, corporate HR officers, executives, and managers. This role is often responsible for creating a positive first impression for individuals inquiring about GSB programs. As a principal contact and liaison with prospective students, both domestic and international, the Admissions Counselor plans, organizes, and coordinates promotional recruiting efforts. This position works to identify enrollment opportunities and strategies that support growth within the graduate business programs and ensures coordination of recruitment efforts with the Director and other Graduate and Online Admissions personnel. This position reports to the Director of Graduate and Online Admissions for the OC Graduate School of Business. The Admissions Counselor works closely with the Dean of the College of Business, the Coordinator of GSB Operations, the Assistant Director of Graduate Programs (OC Rwanda), College of Business faculty, and the Administrative Assistant for the College of Business.
Qualifications:
  • MBA degree preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Sales or marketing experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency, including word processing and database systems
  • Ability to relate to others and their goals regarding a graduate degree
  • Self-initiative with the ability to work with minimal supervision and meet enrollment goals
Responsibilities:
  • Promote the mission of the College of Business
  • Recruit for the Graduate School of Business through:
    • Prospective student follow-up by mail, email, phone call, or personal visit
    • Conducting program information sessions
    • Attending and setting up display booths at appropriate functions promoting GSB programs
    • Working with GSB alumni and others to generate leads for new students
    • Coordinating mailings of information, posters, packets, and brochures
  • Record recruiting activities in the CRM
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed
