Position Summary
The Videographer at Oklahoma Christian University (OC) is responsible for conceptualizing,
filming, and producing video content that tells the story of OC in compelling and authentic ways. This role plays a key part in advancing the university’s brand, supporting recruitment
and advancement efforts, and enhancing engagement across digital platforms.
Working within the Office of Creative Services and Events, the Videographer collaborates
with campus partners including Admissions, Advancement and Academic departments to
produce high-quality video content for promotional, informational, and storytelling
purposes. The position requires a creative professional who combines technical skill with an
understanding of OC’s mission and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Production:
  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for use on web, social media, advertising, and internal communication platforms.
  • Capture compelling footage that highlights student life, academics, spiritual life, and campus events.
  • Develop scripts, storyboards, and shot lists in collaboration with Creative Services staff and campus clients.
  • Ensure consistency with OC’s brand standards and visual identity across all video projects.
Project Management:
  • Coordinate video projects from concept through completion, including pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing creative vision with deadlines and university priorities.
  • Maintain video archives, file management systems, and project tracking within the Marketing Office.
  • Partner with photographers, graphic designers, and writers to produce cohesive multimedia campaigns.
Technical Expertise:
  • Operate and maintain video, audio, and lighting equipment; ensure all gear is in proper working condition.
  • Edit video using industry-standard software
  • Manage color grading, sound mixing, captioning, and export formats for various delivery platforms.
  • Optimize videos for digital performance, including social media and web streaming.
Collaboration and Mission Alignment
  • Work closely with the Director of Creative Services and Events to supportcampus-wide storytelling initiatives.
  • Engage regularly with Admissions and Advancement teams to produce content that supports recruitment and donor engagement.
  • Contribute to a creative team culture that reflects OC’s mission to educate, mentor and inspire learners to fulfill their God-given potential.
  • Assist with live event coverage and production support for major university events.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in video production, including shooting, lighting, and editing.
  • Proficiency with professional video and audio equipment and editing software.
  • Strong storytelling, visual composition, and editing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to the mission of Oklahoma Christian University and its ideals of Christian higher education.
Preferred:
  • Experience producing videos for higher education, nonprofit, or faith-based
  • Familiarity with drone videography and FAA Part 107 certification.
  • Skills in motion graphics or animation.
  • Understanding of digital marketing and social media strategy.
Work Environment
This position operates in a creative and collaborative office setting and requires occasional
evening and weekend hours for event coverage.
This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate production cycles and events, with
compensatory time provided for approved hours worked beyond 40 per week.
