Oklahoma Christian University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in several disciplines and assignments to courses for delivery through various modalities, including on-campus and online. Required qualifications vary from department to department, but a discipline-related master's degree or a combination of education and relevant professional experience are generally required. Candidates with terminal degrees and other specialized training are also highly desired.
Adjunct appointments are part-time (typically one or two courses) and made on a semester-by-semester basis but often result in recurring assignments within a regular course rotation. This is an on-campus, in-person position.
The School of Visual Art + Design is seeking adjunct faculty to teach courses in User Interface (UI/UX) Design at Oklahoma Christian University.
Primary Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a design-related field preferred; candidates with significant professional experience in UI/UX will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in user interface design, digital design, or related areas.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing professional UI/UX work and/or interactive design projects.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or comparable platforms).
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender, and cultural barriers.
  • Ability to design, implement, assess, and continually improve curriculum in alignment with program goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in UI Design, including lecture and studio/lab components.
  • Mentor students in developing design systems, prototypes, and user-centered digital solutions.
  • Integrate industry best practices, accessibility standards, and usability testing into course delivery.
  • Collaborate with faculty to support the overall goals of the School of Visual Art + Design.
