Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing technical specifications and leading the research, design, development, testing, and approval of mechanical devices, including tools, equipment, and machinery. You will also create factory layouts, mechanical components, and assembly blueprints, while interfacing with various on-site and off-site functions to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations.

About the Job

You will play a crucial role in shaping Northvolt's setup in Germany, contributing to a pivotal project in the country's energy and industrial transition. This role focuses on developing and applying mechanical standards for in-house produced parts, supporting both maintenance and production in a machine shop environment. Collaboration with external parties, including technical teams, process engineering, Supply Chain, and IT & automation, is essential to ensure that all mechanical standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and test mechanical systems and components.
  • Create and refine layout and component designs, addressing any issues or malfunctions.
  • Estimate project budgets and scopes and manage procurement of equipment and spare parts.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Collaborate with project managers for efficient resource allocation.
  • Optimize and standardize maintenance activities.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and train team members on specific maintenance tasks.
