We are looking for a curious, analytical, and ambitious team member to join us in our mission to transform the Automotive industry into a sustainable battery electric future. A key pillar in achieving this mission is a profitable business case for both Northvolt and our Automotive customers.

About the Job
As part of the Automotive commercial team, you will work on pricing and business case for our existing and future customers contracts. In the role you will work cross-functionally with multiple teams in Northvolt including R&D, Supply Chain, Production, and Finance teams to consolidate cost structure and business case for our battery cells. Furthermore, you will alongside our business development team join customer meetings and negotiations.

The role is highly diverse in its nature, a typical day can range from detailed engineering discussions with R&D team to negotiating pricing in multi-billion-dollar contracts with our customers. About the team
The automotive commercial team is part of the Automotive & Foundry business unit that is responsible for business development, sales and customer projects for our Automotive OEM customers. The team is responsible for business case, pricing, and commercial terms for our existing and future businesses. The team is based at our headquarters in Stockholm and travels on weekly/monthly basis to our customers sites, R&D centre in Västerås and Gigafactories across Europe & Canada.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Drive bottom-up costing structure for our battery cells
  • Consolidate Business cases for new business opportunities
  • Set, present, and negotiate pricing to our customers
  • Prepare & facilitate customer cost workshops
  • Drive cost assessment of customer change requests
  • Challenge cost structure & identify opportunities for cost reduction
  • Cost benchmarking vs industry peers
  • Customer interface towards finance team in fundraising & financial planning
