Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Factory Design Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.

You will be part of the Project Engineering team that will drive the construction of our new battery factory in Heide, Germany. Built in multiple phases over 5+ years the factory represents a multi-billion Euro investment project. Together with your colleagues from the Program team you will be accountable to lead internal and external teams cross-functionally to deliver on company targets and in line with customer expectations.

About the job
Responsible for managing the coordinated multi-discipline design of a Northvolt Drei (NV3) factory from basic design, detailed design, As Built and final handover to the NV3 Operations and Maintenance departments.

About the team
You will be expected to manage a project team of up to 40 engineers, based on site in Heide. Your project team will be expected to provide the technical expertise to challenge and optimise the design of the factory. As a leader of this project team, you will be expected to bring structure, drive consistency in project execution and provide guidance.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the NV3 project design team for the entire project scope & ensuring that they follow the project execution plan.
  • Preparing project design phase execution plan, time schedule and design scope of work.
  • Managing NV design input to external design parties by interfacing with internal NV stakeholders.
  • Managing external design parties, tracking progress and flagging any threats to the project.
  • Managing the NV design reviews (discipline, safety, constructability, O&M) and modelling.
  • Managing overall project design change and driving value engineering in overall project.
