Job Description

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join us in our mission to build a greener future. You will play an important part, from the very start, in establishing the various building blocks needed to ramp up Cell production, in Europe and beyond. Ultimately, Northvolt aims to play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

About the job

Some of their key duties include working with the growing German organization and supporting in the control of the costs associated with providing a service or manufacturing a product by analysing expenses within the supply chain, measuring and recording actual costs such as labour, shipping, production and administration, both across a function and at a unit level.

You will also contribute to ensuring that financial systems related to manufacturing and project accounting are fit for purpose, are appropriately maintained and will help identify areas for improvement.

Ultimately, you’ll help maintain our company’s financial health and control environment and make sure we use our resources beneficially. You will gain increasing experience as the company grows whilst utilising and help develop the best technology and processes for a lean mean finance function.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, K3 accounting standards, and local legislation.
  • Monitor and enforce month-end closing procedures.
  • Review reconciliations, act as a liaison with the central team, and collaborate closely with the accounting team and business units.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to proper accounting policies.
  • Manage the audit process and engage with external personnel.
  • Optimize accounting systems and operations.
  • Validate data for fixed and variable costs, ensuring accurate and timely recording.
  • Take ownership of financial recording processes, SOPs, and internal controls related to production and warehouse management.

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, future oriented, curious and eager to learn. Enjoy to work independently and drive issues to conclusion. Having a highly accurate and detail oriented work approach. Good communicator and working effectively in a team environment.
