Job Description

With Germany being the core of European automotive manufacturing, its only natural it should also be a pioneer in scaling up battery cell manufacturing. At Northvolt we are excited to make this happen, and we have recently announced that Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, will be the location of our German Battery Gigafactory. The factory will be built in multiple phases over 5+ years and the factory represent a multi-billion Euro investment project. To enable this project we are now looking for a dedicated and driven Document Controller to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.

About the job
A document controller is responsible for managing and organizing company documents and records. They ensure that documents are stored, maintained, and tracked in a manner that complies with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

About the team
You will be part of the Northvolt project team of about 40 employees that will have the overall responsibility of this mega project based in Heide Germany.

About the work environment
The office is currently located in Hamburg with an outreach to Heide, Schleswig-Holstein where the giga-factory will be built. Please don’t apply if you are not willing to move to site.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Document Management: A document controller is responsible for managing company documents and records, ensuring that they are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

  • Document Control: A document controller must maintain a document control system that ensures that documents are appropriately stored, tracked, and retrieved. This includes assigning document numbers, maintaining revision control, and managing document distribution.

  • Quality Control: A document controller is responsible for ensuring that all documents meet the required quality standards and are in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Record Keeping: A document controller must maintain accurate records of all documents, including the document history, revisions, and approvals.

  • Collaboration: A document controller must work closely with other departments and personnel, including project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that document requirements are met.

Success factors for this position:

In addition to these requirements, a Document Controller in the Construction Industry must have strong attention to detail, be able to work under pressure, and have a strong commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. They should possess excellent organizational and time-management skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. They should be able to work collaboratively with the construction team to ensure project success.
