Job Description

We are looking for a Business Controller to join us in our mission to build a greener future. You will play an important part, from the very start, in establishing the various building blocks needed to ramp up Cell production, in Europe and beyond. Ultimately, Northvolt aims to play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

About the job

In this position you will be part of the finance team supporting our German expansion. In the role you will have the opportunity to combine traditional controlling tasks, such as budgeting and follow up, with varied assignments to support the growth of the business at each point in time.

We believe you have relevant working experience, preferably 3-5 years, either in business controlling or a similar area. If you have worked in a fast-paced international organization with large and complex projects, that is a plus. Experience from construction and/or manufacturing will allow candidates to hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain financial assumptions for project execution, e.g. related to cash flow estimates, CAPEX spend, milestones, ramp-up periods, and projections for steady-state operation
  • Provide insightful follow-up of objectives and financials vs budget & forecast
  • Contribute in longer-term financial planning, including assumptions on financing models and capital allocation aspects
  • Assist the overall team in analysis, financial modelling and business case development
  • Contribute to selected recurring finance & accounting process, e.g. connected to quarterly closings and stakeholder reports

As Business Controller supporting the German expansion you are based in Hamburg/Heide. You will report to the Director of Business Control Germany.

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, future oriented, curious and eager to learn.

Northvolt is an equal opportunity employer. We're a diverse group of individuals, united by a common mission, who recognise that while our actions as individuals have a role to play in driving Northvolt towards its goals, we always seek to move forward as a team. We offer you an open and welcoming atmosphere where we win as a team – and fail as a team. Northvolt is growing fast and we are a strong believer in internal career development.
