About us
A concentrated, ultra hands-on VC fund building world-changing companies with Europe’s best scientists and engineers.
Norrsken Launcher is an impact deep tech VC fund – part of the Norrsken ecosystem – investing in early-stage companies that can transform the future for people and the planet. We partner with world-class scientists and engineers to industrialize, commercialize, and scale groundbreaking technologies.
We’re a close-knit team of company builders and operators, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to every project we back. With a combined track record of founding, funding, or building 16 unicorns, we’re now channeling that expertise toward solving humanity’s biggest challenges.
We invest in 1–3 companies per year and get deeply operationally involved working side-by-side with founders for 6–9 months, in a way most VCs can’t.
Our portfolio includes game-changing companies in next-generation diagnostics, stem cells, small nuclear reactors, plastic alternatives, textile recycling, hydropower, and clean air technologies.
Our team is now expanding with an Impact Lead, as our current Impact Manager transitions into the investment team.
About the role
As Impact Lead at Norrsken Launcher, you will ensure that impact is deeply integrated into everything we do - from how we evaluate investments to how we support founders and measure results. You will own and shape our impact strategy and reporting framework, ensuring that our ambition to back world-changing companies is matched by rigor, credibility, and measurable outcomes.
This is not a compliance-only role. You will operate at the intersection of investment, strategy, and regulation, helping bring structure and clarity to how we assess impact and track progress across the fund and portfolio.
You will be responsible for building and continuously improving our Article 9 impact infrastructure, leading SFDR reporting, and driving impact due diligence in new investments. At the same time, you will work closely with founders to translate bold impact theses into measurable KPIs and scalable systems, and shape how we communicate our impact to LPs and the broader ecosystem - through reporting, insights, and thought leadership.
The role combines regulatory understanding, analytical rigor, commercial judgment, communication skills and pragmatism. You will help ensure that impact is fully embedded in our investment decisions - not treated as a parallel process.
The role is full-time based in Stockholm at the Norrsken House, with the possibility to work remotely a couple of days per week. You must have a valid work permit for the European Union and Sweden.
We offer pension and insurance, 35 days of vacation, and wellness and training reimbursement. There is also the possibility to participate in a performance-based fund incentive scheme, subject to timing and eligibility.
The role will start as soon as possible, and we review applications on a rolling basis.
Your responsibilities will include:
Own and develop the fund’s impact strategy and reporting framework under SFDR Article 9
Lead the annual reporting cycle, including PAI selection, data aggregation, and documentation
Design pragmatic data collection processes suited for early-stage portfolio companies
Conduct and structure impact due diligence for new investment opportunities
Assess impact potential, additionality, and key risks ahead of Investment Committee decisions
Define impact KPIs together with founders and ensure 1:1 alignment between revenue and impact
Monitor and analyse impact performance across the portfolio
Ensure internal impact processes remain proportionate, rigorous, and scalable
Contribute to LP reporting and shape how we communicate our impact through reports, materials, and insights
Act as the fund’s subject matter expert on impact and sustainable finance - staying on top of regulatory developments and market shifts, and translating their implications clearly to the team
You’re the right fit if you:
Are deeply motivated by solving major societal and environmental challenges
Have strong knowledge of SFDR and impact reporting frameworks
Combine analytical rigor with practical judgment
Use AI and automation tools to work more efficiently - structuring information, analysing data, and streamlining reporting workflows
Can distinguish between material and immaterial impact indicators
Think commercially and understand how impact interacts with business models
Thrive in a small, fast-moving team and take full ownership of your domain
Communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally
Are humble, structured, and intellectually curious
You likely have:
2–3 years of relevant experience in impact investing, ESG strategy, PE, sustainable finance, or consulting
Experience working with SFDR, impact frameworks, or sustainability reporting
Strong analytical skills and comfort working in Excel and structured presentations
A degree in finance, engineering, sustainability, or a related field
Experience working with early-stage companies or in venture capital is a strong plus.
Norrsken Launcher aims to attract, recruit, and retain a diverse, inclusive, and creative team to give us the best opportunity to meet the diverse needs of our fund. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities.
How to apply
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as we review applications on a rolling basis. This is a full-time role based in Norrsken House in Stockholm. A valid work permit for Sweden/EU is required.
Our recruitment process includes:
A short video presentation of yourself
Alva Labs online logical and personality assessments
Structured interviews with members of our team
A practical case assignment to give you a feel for the role – and us a feel for your approach
We use AI every day and expect you to do the same – but we’re hiring a human, not an AI agent. Invest time and effort in your application, be well prepared, and we’ll invest in you.
