Calling all aspiring operations enthusiasts! We’re looking for a stellar Operations Intern to assist in the daily operations of Norrsken House Kigali. If you’re eager to learn, contribute, and be part of something bigger, this opportunity is for you.
Since opening our doors in Kigali in 2021, Norrsken has become a vibrant hub for over 1200 entrepreneurs, all working to bring innovative solutions to Rwanda, Africa, and the world. As we recently opened up a new building, increasing our occupancy capacity, the Norrsken House operations have scaled even more.
As the Operations Intern, you’ll provide vital support to our operations team, helping with a range of tasks to keep our hub running smoothly — from assisting with suppliers and daily operations to helping maintain a welcoming environment for all our members and guests.
This role offers a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience, learn from a passionate team, and contribute to meaningful work. You'll be based at Norrsken House Kigali, working closely with the operations team to keep our hub thriving.
If you're ready to dive in, learn, and grow with us, we’d love to hear from you!
Key responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Coordinate day-to-day operations to ensure our hub setup is optimized to support the needs of our members and guests.
Manage the Front desk operations, including scheduling, welcoming guests and providing tours of the space.
Support member needs by addressing inquiries and answering questions.
Monitor and report maintenance, cleanliness and overall setup; coordinate with cleaning staff and the operations team to maintain a welcoming and well-functioning hub.
Oversee inventory and procurement for consumables.
To thrive and succeed in this role, we believe you:
Have recently graduated from university and are ready to commit to a full-time internship of 6 months, with potential for extension.
Share our passion for entrepreneurship and technology as drivers for positive change and are eager to support entrepreneurs working towards this mission.
Are tech-savvy and strive for efficiency - you leverage digital tools and smart processes to get things done faster and better.
Derive a lot of energy from interacting with different people and help solving their queries.
Feel motivated to be part of a dynamic and international team and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Are an excellent communicator in both written and spoken English and preferably also Kinyarwanda. Other language skills are considered meritorious.
A job at Norrsken is more like working at a startup, than a foundation. It’s a fast-paced and exciting place to work. Tasks and challenges may be demanding, and responsibilities may change over time, but we guarantee that in return we will fast-forward your personal and professional development. Ten years from now, you will be proud of the projects and ideas you developed and acted on together with us.
Compensation and benefits
This is a paid, full-time internship for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. This position requires you to be based in Kigali, Rwanda, working from the vibrant Norrsken House. Other benefits include; medical insurance, a computer with free Wi-Fi access, and the opportunity to work in one of the coolest office spaces in Kigali, surrounded by inspiring entrepreneurs dedicated to building a fair and positive future for all.
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, as recruitment is ongoing. The final date to submit your application is September 18th, 2024.
