Calling all visionary operators! Norrsken is seeking a remarkable individual to join us as Operations Manager to lead operations of the Norrsken House Kigali on our mission of helping entrepreneurs solve the world’s greatest challenges.
Since Norrsken opened its doors in Kigali in 2021, we've built a landmark hub hosting 1200+ entrepreneurs, working every day to bring new solutions to Rwanda, Africa and the world. From hosting Norrsken Africa Week to dynamic meetups and Founder Fridays, we've fostered a thriving community of founders, investors, and thought leaders. You’ll be part of the management team at Norrsken House Kigali and reporting directly to the Managing Director East Africa. The role requires you to be based in Kigali, Rwanda.
Key responsibilities, include but are not limited to;
Operational Excellence: Ensuring that Norrsken House Kigali is at the forefront of efficient ways of working and creating internal processes and structures to make sure that things “just work”. Explore synergies from various functions to save costs and most importantly, find creative solutions to day-to-day challenges.
Procurement: Being responsible for negotiating with suppliers and maintaining relationships with partners. Working closely with internal teams to optimize the P&L to make sure the house is able to continue to undertake the boldest impact initiatives, whilst maintaining a fully functioning and net positive house.
Project Management: Set up project briefs and plan initiatives that strengthen our mission to become the main hub for impact in East Africa.
Technology: Making sure Norrsken House Kigali optimize our digital tools and coordinate with other team members to implement new solutions if needed.
Member Experience and Support: Onboarding of new members and making sure that we excel at members support. Creating a clear and unified message of what our impact hub offer and what we want to become.
Leadership: As Operations Manager you will lead our Operations team, including service providers and volunteers.

Have a genuine passion for helping entrepreneurs and to empower Africa’s next generation of impact startups.
You are a master at getting things done. You have demonstrated experience in taking great ownership of tasks from start to finish and delivering them within deadline.
Have a problem solving mindset with the ability to make compromises and roll up your sleeves when needed.
Have strong business acumen and an analytical mindset, e.g for optimizing P&L processes.
You are comfortable and skilled in building strong relationships and leading conversations with a diverse range of stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, members and colleagues.
You derive a lot of your energy from fun, meaningful, strategic and intellectually challenging interactions. As a leader, you have the ability to share this energy to coach and empower others.
Experience that would be of value to our team and this role;
5+ years of relevant working experience and an urge to always learn new skills
Experience owning budget and preferably also leading a division or business unit
Experience in spearheading negotiations, licitation and bidding processes is a must-have
Meritorious with experience in managing office spaces or hospitality, and having a proven track-record of creating synergies in collaborative environments.

Compensation and benefits
