Norrsken East Africa is looking for a stellar Finance Associate to join our team and our mission to make Norrsken House Kigali the epicenter for entrepreneurship and innovation in East Africa.

As Finance Associate, you have a pivotal role in ensuring Norrsken’s ability to execute on our vision by optimizing our financial operations.
Your objective is to ensure Norrsken East Africa’s finance operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be working closely with the Finance Lead East Africa and collaborating with the finance department at Norrsken HQ in Stockholm as well as external parties, such as local authorities.
This role is based in Kigali, Rwanda and reports to the Finance Lead East Africa.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Process Electronic Billing Machine (EBM) invoices efficiently, with regards to accuracy and deadlines.
Follow-up on overdue invoices and taking necessary steps for payment.
Check sales and expenses (payables and receivables).
Manage reconciliation of sales and expenses in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) systems.
Prepare financial statements, calculate all RRA Taxes and declare them on time and in full.
Develop and optimize use of our financial processes and systems.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent.
Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting. Knowledge in Quickbooks or/and a certification (e.g. an ACCA or CPA) is an added advantage.
A growth mindset and are eager to contribute to building a dynamic and driven team and organization.
A love for numbers and digging into excel files to find simple solutions to complex problems.
Great stakeholder- and project management skills from working in international organizations.
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Salary and benefits
Salary is gross 1,781 USD/month, 22 vacation days/year, pension plan and medical insurance, new phone and computer with free wifi access, and nonetheless, the opportunity to work in one of the coolest office spaces in Kigali where your contribution will support entrepreneurs who are working hard to build a fair and positive future for all of us.
