Who are we?

MiMIAT Health has developed a patient-controlled longitudinal health record that makes disease evolution visible and enables data continuity across fragmented care settings for multidisciplinary teams managing hard-to-diagnose diseases.

Our work has been recognised through PRECISEU Best Practice Recognition, AstraZeneca ACCIÓN, Google for Startups for Sustainable Development and NVIDIA Inception. We are also part of COST Action CA24114, focused on blood, tissues and cells as starting materials for advanced therapies.

MiMIAT is now developing Mimi, a multilingual voice AI layer built on top of its patient-controlled longitudinal health record. Mimi is intended to continuously reconstruct and interpret each patient’s disease trajectory across clinical records, biomarkers, medication history, treatment response, patient-reported data, connected devices and family history.

Mimi will identify missing context, contradictions and changes that the current diagnosis or treatment may no longer explain, transforming fragmented information into structured, reviewable clinical intelligence for patients and multidisciplinary care teams.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced Behavioural Design Lead to shape how patients experience Mimi, build trust and sustain engagement over time.

You will work directly with the Founder & CEO and collaborate with product, engineering and clinical contributors to define Mimi’s behavioural identity across voice, conversation and UI/UX.

Mimi must not feel like a cold AI agent or generic chatbot. Her personality, language, timing, visual presence and interaction patterns should create a coherent and recognisable experience that patients genuinely want to return to.

The objective is responsible relational stickiness: building familiarity, trust and emotional connection that support sustained participation in the patient’s own care, without manipulation, guilt or unhealthy dependency.

This role requires someone who can translate behavioural science and health psychology into clear product decisions, interaction principles, experiments and measurable outcomes.

The collaboration will begin at approximately 2 to 3 hours per week, managed flexibly around the person’s existing professional commitments.

What will you do?

  • Define Mimi’s behavioural identity, including personality, tone, emotional range, conversational boundaries and degree of initiative.
  • Shape the patient journey across onboarding, disclosure, routine use, difficult health periods, inactivity, return and long-term engagement.
  • Guide Mimi’s voice, conversation flows and UI/UX so that every interaction feels consistent, warm, clear and purposeful.
  • Identify the behavioural drivers and barriers affecting trust, honest disclosure, cognitive burden, sustained use and re-engagement.
  • Translate behavioural and psychological evidence into practical product requirements, microcopy, interaction rules and design recommendations.
  • Define when Mimi should ask, acknowledge, encourage, remain silent, suggest a next step or defer to a healthcare professional.
  • Establish responsible boundaries for sensitive situations, including emotional distress, worsening health, caregiver involvement and dependency risk.
  • Design behavioural hypotheses and experiments, and define metrics across activation, meaningful participation, completion burden, trust, inactivity and return.
  • Conduct or guide patient research and convert qualitative and quantitative findings into prioritised product decisions.
  • Support culturally and linguistically adaptable design principles for patients with different communication norms, health-literacy levels and digital familiarity.
  • Work with clinicians, engineers, regulatory and privacy contributors to ensure that behavioural choices are clinically appropriate, technically feasible and ethically responsible.
  • Build a practical behavioural-design framework that can guide Mimi across diseases, languages and patient populations.

Who are you?

  • You must bring strong expertise in both behavioural design and healthcare.
  • You have at least 4 years of professional experience in behavioural design, behavioural science, health psychology, human-computer interaction or a closely related field.
  • You have at least 2 years of direct experience in digital health, HealthTech, patient-facing healthcare products, chronic-care interventions or another healthcare environment.
  • You have applied behavioural or psychological principles to at least one live digital product, service or intervention used by patients or recurring users.
  • You can translate behavioural evidence into concrete product decisions across patient journeys, UI/UX, conversation design, experimentation and measurement.
  • You understand how trust, disclosure, motivation, cognitive burden, adherence, disengagement and re-engagement operate in health contexts.
  • You have practical experience conducting or interpreting qualitative and quantitative user research and converting findings into prioritised recommendations.
  • You are comfortable working directly with product designers, engineers and clinicians, and can communicate behavioural requirements clearly across disciplines.
  • You have strong ethical judgement and can distinguish responsible relational engagement from manipulative retention, emotional coercion or unhealthy dependency.
  • You are patient-centred, observant, culturally sensitive and attentive to subtle inconsistencies in language, tone and interaction.
  • You are pragmatic, intellectually rigorous and comfortable challenging assumptions in an early-stage environment.
  • You can sustain approximately 2 to 3 hours per week during the initial phase, with proactive communication around progress, availability and blockers.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with chronic disease, conversational AI, voice interfaces, relational agents, affective computing, persona design, multilingual products, health literacy, culturally adaptive design or regulated healthcare technology.

Benefits

  • Current phase: The collaboration will begin on an unpaid/pro-bono basis at approximately 2 to 3 hours per week. Both sides will work against clearly agreed behavioural priorities, deliverables and milestones to assess expertise, product thinking, consistency, communication and fit with MiMIAT’s team and current stage.
  • Potential evolution: Where there is strong mutual fit, demonstrated expertise and consistent delivery against agreed milestones, the role may progressively expand in scope, weekly commitment and leadership responsibility. Subject to MiMIAT reaching defined product, commercial and financing milestones, this could include a transition towards a paid part-time or full-time behavioural-design leadership role, together with a potential longer-term executive or equity structure. Any expanded arrangement would be negotiated and documented separately in writing before it begins.
  • You will work directly with the Founder & CEO and have meaningful influence over Mimi’s behavioural identity, relational architecture and patient experience from its earliest stage.
  • You will help define how a patient-facing AI presence can build trust, familiarity and sustained health participation without compromising patient autonomy or emotional safety.
  • You will contribute to a live patient-facing platform while helping shape Mimi from its earliest stage.
  • You will work at the intersection of behavioural design, chronic care, longitudinal health data, relational AI, voice interaction and patient-centred product development.
  • You will help establish the behavioural principles and design framework guiding Mimi across different diseases, cultures, languages and patient populations.
  • You will work alongside contributors across product, engineering, clinical care, regulatory affairs and health-data privacy.
  • You will join a mission-driven HealthTech company recognised through PRECISEU, AstraZeneca ACCIÓN, Google for Startups for Sustainable Development and NVIDIA Inception.

How to apply

Send your CV, LinkedIn profile, portfolio, case studies or relevant product examples to info@mimiathealth.com, or reach out directly here on LinkedIn.

Please include a brief description of the most relevant patient-facing healthcare product, service or intervention you have personally shaped, together with the responsibility you personally held.

Please also share one example of how you translated a behavioural or psychological insight into a concrete product, UI/UX or conversational-design decision, including how you assessed its impact.

If this speaks to you, we’d love to hear from you!
