Energy systems are more volatile with renewables. Loadwise connects data center infrastructure to energy markets and grid signals to optimize cost and carbon. The EngagementIncumbent tools were built for a stable grid; that grid is gone. We are building for volatility, flexibility demands, and AI-scale loads. We seek a Data Center Infrastructure Advisor as the facility reality check for the platform—hands-on experience in live facilities required.Typical engagement: ~3–5 days/month, flexible by phase. What You'll Work OnOperational Grounding & Product Direction- Review product/integration decisions from an operator perspective- Define what “good” looks like for core integrations (cooling, power, automation)- Help prioritize features by operational impact and feasibilityIntegration Acceleration- Guide engineering through vendor quirks, undocumented APIs, and real-world protocol behavior- Design integration pathways fitting operational and security constraints- Support early customer deployments and troubleshootingCustomer & Partner Engagement- Participate in technical customer conversations to accelerate trust- Feed vendor ecosystem/operational insights into product and commercial decisionsExample Problems- Should UPS systems ever be cycled for DR or optimization?- What telemetry is available from DCIM platforms (e.g., Schneider EcoStruxure, Vertiv)?- How to adjust SLAs to enable flexibility without compromising reliability? What We're Looking ForData Center Operations- Direct experience running/scaling live data center environments- Familiarity with facility management systems- Experience with power distribution, UPS, generators, cooling, redundancyCustomer & SLA Perspective- Understand how operations interact with uptime guarantees and SLAs (colo, hyperscale/cloud, HPC research, vertically integrated compute)Technical Breadth- Read/reason about integration schematics, control sequences, system architectures- Comfortable in architecture discussions with software engineersCollaboration & Mindset- Explain operational realities clearly and challenge assumptions constructively- Curiosity about software making DC infrastructure more efficient and responsive What We OfferFlexible Engagement: freelance/fractional; open to day rate, contract, or project-basedOur Process: a couple of direct conversations with founders to align scope and move to terms quickly.
