Geared towards accelerating the 2030 Agenda, the programme is committed to investing in the next generation of emerging young leaders. It offers immersive experiences that equip youth with the necessary tools to make impactful contributions towards our collective global goals.

About Läkarmissionen/LM International

LM International (Läkarmissionen) is a Swedish global foundation that is dedicated to save lives and to empower people. The foundation has been in existence since 1958. Grounded on Christian values and with the strong vision “Dignified life – sustainable world” we conduct international development cooperation and humanitarian aid in approximately 20 countries, primarily in Africa and Latin America, but also in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. With around 500 employees, our operations span our Global office in Stockholm, Mobilisation offices in Stockholm, New York and Oslo, regional hubs in Panama City, Dubai, and Nairobi, and ten country offices in sub-Saharan Africa and Ukraine.

Track 4: Travel and explore

Aimed at inspiring young adults to experience development cooperation and humanitarian aid work for a few weeks in partnership with various organisations including youth political associations, churches, and others. Participants may need to meet specific partner requirements, such as membership in the respective organisation.

To maximise impact, LM International collaborates with partners for this track for organisation of trips, one of which is the MAF Co-pilot pro programme.

Co-pilot pro 2026

Are you aged 18–30 and passionate about international development, humanitarian aid, and the role of the church in creating change? We invite you to apply for Co-Pilot Pro 2026—a two-week international learning experience organized by LM International in partnership with MAF.

This programme offers a unique opportunity to travel to Eastern Africa and learn first-hand about development cooperation and humanitarian efforts in the region. You will visit local projects, engage with partner churches, and explore how global goals like the Agenda 2030 come to life in diverse communities.

Practical Information:

If you are a member of CO-PILOT, we will travel to Kenya from October 20 – November 1 for a team trip to visit our partner Läkarmissionen and Red Tribe. That is Tuesday week 43 to Sunday week 44 (during the autumn break).

If you are accepted and confirm your participation, you will then raise your own funds and contact sponsors such as your church’s mission council, GoFundMe, etc. The cost of the trip will be between 17,000 SEK per person. This fee covers flights, visa, transport, food, and accommodation for the entire trip (which makes it very affordable considering the length and content of the trip). You are responsible for your own vaccinations (depending on your health needs).

We will ensure that you receive the proper knowledge and safety information before the trip through two joint preparation days at MAF’s office in Gothenburg well in advance of departure.

Focus areas in Kenya:
Meet Läkarmissionen’s staff and visit their projects outside Nairobi where they work with clean water, education, and poverty alleviation. You will also attend lectures at the office about development aid, humanitarian work, and mission.

Then you will fly with MAF to a Maasai village in southern Kenya, in a very remote area where essential supplies are most easily delivered through MAF’s flights.

In the remote village, you will see how our partner organization Red Tribe works to improve the community’s living conditions. They are addressing challenges such as climate change, poverty, and isolation. You will see their work firsthand, including the small clinic, the local school, women’s beadwork (necklaces, bracelets, etc.), sustainable farming initiatives—and of course worship and pray together.

We would love for you to document the trip digitally and share on our social media, telling your church, friends, and family about the amazing work being done.

You will bring approximately 100 water filters from our partner Water Matters to distribute and teach people how to use. The filters provide access to safe drinking water and help reduce waterborne diseases. Your efforts will make a significant difference for these communities!

YOU are needed!
Whether you are a student, communicator, craftsperson, social worker, nurse, human rights graduate, or engineer—we will ensure that your background, education, and interests are considered so that you can learn about our work and grow personally.

It will be an exciting journey together with other Co-Pilots—one that will shape your life!
