LM International (Läkarmissionen) is a Swedish Global Foundation that has been working since 1958 to save lives, empower people and to ensure everyone's right to a dignified life in a sustainable world. We conduct international development cooperation work and humanitarian aid in about 20 countries.

We primarily work in Africa and Latin America, but also in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. We have approximately 400 employees, distributed between our global office in Stockholm, mobilisation offices in New York and Oslo, regional hubs in Panama City, Dubai, and Nairobi, and ten country offices in sub-Saharan Africa and Ukraine.

LM International is in an expansive growth phase and is therefore looking for a driven Global Humanitarian Coordinator with a focus on institutional donors' relations and global humanitarian work. We already have a donor partner portfolio with short-term and multi-year funding ranging from UN, EU, EU Member states and agencies, additionally we have a vast variety of private donors. Funding comes from both global and local level you will be responsible for institutional donor relations, fundraising and program reporting. The role will also entail to support in the development and strengthen of our methodological approaches, Core Humanitarian Standards, and LMs Key approaches as outlined in our Global strategy Roadmap 2030 .

We are looking for an experienced, structured, and analytical Global Humanitarian Coordinator with good experience developing, leading and expanding program portfolios through strengthened and dynamic institutional donor relations and strategic programming. We are working in fragile states and hard-reach environment, so solid humanitarian experience is seen as highly relevant.

Your Mission

1. Coordination of Global Humanitarian Team:

  • Responsible for global coordination of the Humanitarian Programming including global quality assurance at global program level.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing humanitarian plans in line with LMs strategy Roadmap 2030.
  • Maintain strategic oversight of the humanitarian plans for Global Programs Department to ensure goal fulfilment and result orientation.

2. Institutional Humanitarian Donor Partnership:

  • Represent LM In Integral Alliance Global humanitarian coordination through Integral Programme Group (IPG).
  • Coordinate, develop and maintain humanitarian institutional donor partnerships at a global level.
  • Maintain effective communications with humanitarian stakeholders and build effective alliances and consortium for scalability and greater impact.
  • Key Account Manager for ECHO with full responsibility for the portfolio.
  • Responsibility for humanitarian donor partner cards in LIME.

3. Resource mobilisation:

  • Together with the Director of Global Program provide strategic leadership for humanitarian resource mobilisation via donor mapping exercises grounded on LMs global strategy “Roadmap 2030”.
  • Lead humanitarian program design and grant writing procedures including division of roles and mandates in proposal and quality assurance of program standards.
  • Scaling of current humanitarian project and program activities as well as for successful pilots with proof-of-concept program design in collaboration with regional and country teams.

4. Program Coordination and Capacity Development:

  • Lead high-quality standards for program follow-up, reporting, and organisational learning within LM's established humanitarian team.
  • Maintain strategic oversight and coordination of program implementation according to donor requirements and deadlines.
  • Coordinate humanitarian program design and resource mobilisation for ongoing projects and programs.
  • Assure compliance with International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Core Humanitarian Standards and principles (CHS) and full compliance with Sphere standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in Global humanitarian Coordination and formal management within humanitarian aid work.
  • Experience working effectively in international and cross-cultural environments.
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining long-term donor relationships within the framework of international development cooperation, particularly with ECHO, and the United Nation bodies such as UNICEF and UNHCR.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic field. A master's degree is desirable.
  • Senior proven experience in global program development, implementation, compliance, follow-up, and reporting.
  • A high level of English language skills is required. Swedish and French preferable. Other Scandinavian languages and Spanish is seen as an asset.

About the Position

  • The Global Humanitarian Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Global Programs.
  • LMs work is grounded on Christian core values. Our starting point for all work is human rights-based approach, gender equality, and poverty reduction.
  • The position is located at global level and can be placed where best suited for the position. The position involves extensive travels to LMs humanitarian program countries, such as Chad, Sudan, Ukraine and Somalia. Work from one of LMs other offices can also be possible, depending on location and negotiation.
  • Intended start date: November 1st 2025.

Type of employment: permanent position (we apply a six-month probationary period).
