Overview
The Sr. Principal Advisor will Provide senior-level strategic direction on the creation of a maternal sepsis course. Ensure adherence to the standard HMS course structure, principles and instructional design theory. Facilitate engagement of key strategic international partners for global endorsement and dissemination. Provide technical leadership on integration of maternal sepsis HMS module into the current HMS suite of courses.

Responsibilities
Facilitate engagement with key international partners on the technical advisory group
- Provide technical leadership for forming strategic relationships with key HMS multilateral and bilateral partners to facilitate wider global endorsement and dissemination
- Facilitate connections and negotiations with important multilateral and bilateral partners
- Negotiate formal organizational endorsement from key global partners
- Keep the Technical Directors and other TLO technical staff informed of successes, challenges, and lessons learned in implementing programs in areas of technical expertise
- Provide instructional design guidance to ensure consistency and adherence to HMS course structures and instructional design principles
- Finalize course design and course outline to align with HMS course structures and principles
- Guide the creation of an HMS-style flow chart, based on the APT-Sepsis materials and WHO guidance
- Facilitate the collection of SME and partner feedback
- Prepare a plan for the pilot test evaluation, including guiding IRB determination
- Terms of reference for external technical advisory group
- Maternal sepsis HMS course design document, describing both instructor-led and blended learning delivery
- Maternal sepsis HMS-style flow chart wall poster rough draft
- Finalization of pilot training monitoring and evaluation plan
- Early April 2026 – August 31, 2026 (exact start date to be determined)
- As needed
- Master’s degree in public health, Medicine or related Health field.
- 10+ years of direct experience managing the development of HMS courses, research and evaluation, principal investigator experience
- Experience in HMS course development process, partnership strategies and course structural requirements
- Experience as principal investigator for in-service training-based research and evaluations
- Deep experience in instructional design theory and principles as applied in HMS courses
- Experience in designing simulation-based learning courses and content
- Subject matter expertise in maternal sepsis
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- PhD or Doctorate
- 15+ years of direct experience managing the development of HMS courses, research and evaluation, principal investigator experience
