Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Program & Data Assistant.


Position Overview


The Program Data Assistant will be responsible for providing technical, programmatic, and operational support to improve maternal health outcomes. The position will work closely with the State Program Manager and other stakeholders to support effective implementation of the project. The incumbent will report to the State Program Manager.

Responsibilities

Provide programmatic and administrative support to the State Program Manager to ensure timely implementation of all project activities as per the approved work plan.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government officials and stakeholders at the state and district levels.
• Work closely with the State Maternal Health Division to support day-to-day activities assigned by the Deputy Director, Maternal Health.
• Support in planning and conducting meetings with state officials in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with government bodies, development partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Support program teams in organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, including logistical arrangements and participant coordination.
• Assist in documenting project activities, success stories, challenges, and outcomes for inclusion in quarterly and annual progress reports.
• Provide administrative support related to program implementation while ensuring compliance with Jhpiego policies and donor regulations.
• Assist in planning and organizing project activities, including workshops, training programs, logistics management, and travel arrangements.
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the supervisor in support of overall project goals.

Required Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies
• Demonstrated experience and ability to work with government programs and systems; experience in maternal health will be an added advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kannada.
• Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with government counterparts, partner agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Technical proficiency relevant to the assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively under tight deadlines.
• Willingness and flexibility to work on a broad range of tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Qualifications and Experience


• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline such as BA, BSc, BE, BSW, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in the field of maternal health.
• Experience working with the National Health Mission (NHM) at the project or state level is desirable.
• Strong advocacy skills with NHM authorities and experience in facilitating the incorporation of innovations into State Program Implementation Plans.
• Knowledge and experience in the preparation of State NHM PIPs.
• Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies and strategies, particularly the National Health Mission, will be an advantage.
