Overview
Under the guidance and close supervision of the line manager of EGHS project, the incumbent will address the overall project situation and provide support in advising the GoB for the creation of an integrated national disease Surveillance Laboratory system and to set the stage for needed policy dialogues concerning the existing disease Surveillance system.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Specialist – Surveillance in the implementation of Surveillance Laboratory related activities in alignment with project workplans.
- Provide support to team to liaise with DGHS & IEDCR and other relevant stakeholders like icddr,b, BMU, NTP, EPI, WHO etc. as well as with CDC officers in Bangladesh and Atlanta, USA
- Assist in organizing and coordinating technical workshops, field visits, stakeholder consultations, SME meetings, and validation events.
- Provide logistical and operational support for Surveillance Laboratory mapping, assessments, data collection, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Maintain proper documentation of Surveillance Laboratory activities including meeting notes, workshop reports, field visit summaries, and activity trackers.
- Coordinate with the Project Coordinator- Operations to ensure timely logistical arrangements and financial compliance for planned activities.
- Assist in drafting presentation materials, and other communication content as needed.
- Participate in internal planning meetings, joint reviews, and weekly check-ins to ensure alignment with project deliverables.
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding police among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so once the technology is completed, doing quality assessment by verifying generated contents.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of work experience with disease Surveillance Laboratory areas.
- MBBS/Master’s Degree in Public Health/Microbiology/Life Sciences/Health Informatics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Good understanding and hands-on experience in Surveillance Laboratory related project activities & initiatives.
- Good coordination with GOB and other stakeholders.
Skills:
- Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office Program (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)
- Excellent public relations, communication, coordination, Networking skills
- Recording, reporting & presentation skills.

- Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines
