We are looking for a Legal & Compliance Officer to join our growing in-house team, working at the intersection of AI, SaaS, data protection and emerging regulation.
This is a broad, hands-on role where you will take ownership of day-to-day legal matters, work closely with teams across the business, and help shape scalable legal and compliance frameworks in a fast-moving environment.
It’s an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build strong in-house experience while being closely involved in innovative, AI-driven products and real commercial decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements, including services agreements, SOWs, supplier contracts, NDAs and collaboration agreements.
- Manage and oversee a global compliance programme offering training, guidance and support to the business including anti-bribery and corruption, data protection and AI regulatory.
- Advise on data privacy matters and assist with the implementation of data privacy policies and processes.
- Support product and new AI- related feature reviews, from a legal and regulatory perspective.
- Work closely with other teams within the business to ensure legal risks are identified and managed.
- Play a key role in driving automation and streamlining of legal and compliance processes, including implementing new tools, technologies (including AI), and workflows, and working closely with other teams to embed them effectively.
- Provide legal advice and support to the business, with a particular focus on commercial contracts and compliance (including regulatory compliance).
Desired Experience / Skills:
- Qualified solicitor with at least 2 years of PQE (law firm or in-house).
- Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations.
- Technology/ SAAS/ AI experience is preferred but not essential.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Familiarity with commercial issues affecting businesses in a regulated industry.
- Any prior experience supporting the implementation or improvement of legal processes, systems, or tools would be welcome but not essential.
- A team player with a positive attitude.
