Are you a final year Master’s student looking for thesis opportunities during the spring semester 2024? Curious about aerospace development at the cutting edge of emerging technologies and new markets? How does a dynamic scale-up company with an international team of experts sound?
Heart Aerospace is looking for one or two master students to join our Propulsion Systems team.
Thesis description
One of the novelties of electric aviation is the introduction of high voltage inverters. In order to ensure a safe and functional aircraft, it must be ensured that the electromagnetic emissions of the inverters do not affect other system of the aircraft. Typically, the systems on the aircraft are qualified to comply with certain level of electromagnetic emissions, however, the emissions coming from the inverter are not completely covered in todays standards.
The aim of this thesis work is to increase the knowledge about the expected electromagnetic emissions from the inverters and how they could affect other systems.
The main tasks will be to:
-
Dive into existing research on current EMI levels accounted on aerospace and the delta contribution from inverters.
-
Modelling of the inverters
-
Analysis of the simulation outputs and translation into design requirements.
-
If time allows, verification via rig testing.
-
Summarize the results on a report/Thesis.
