Regional Planner - North America Operations
Einride
Job Description
Want to be part of transforming road freight – for good? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, electric and autonomous technologies. Through freight capacity as a service, we enable businesses around the world to accelerate towards their sustainability goals.
Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a US public road. Today our award-winning technology has been launched across 8 countries (and counting). Our clients are some of the world’s biggest shippers, including Fortune 500 companies. We are also operating Sweden’s largest truck dedicated public charging network and counting.
At Einride Logistics, we aren’t just moving goods; we are re-engineering the very fabric of the supply chain. As a Regional Planner, you won't just be "dispatching" you will be the architect of a high-performance regional network.
You will leverage Einride’s proprietary VRP (Vehicle Routing Problem) platform, AI-driven agents, and advanced data modeling to transform massive datasets into high-revenue, high-efficiency movements. We are looking for a tech-forward self-starter who thrives where data science meets operational execution.
You will be responsible for:
Intelligent Network Orchestration
- AI-Driven Load Matching: Use our internal VRP platform and AI agents to manipulate large shipment datasets, identifying the most profitable loads and tenders for multiple ELI hubs.
- Revenue Chasing: Proactively hunt for high-yield freight to maximize the "yield per mile" across the regional network.
- Optimization: Balance "asset-based" capacity with brokerage opportunities, ensuring every mile driven contributes to the bottom line.
Tactical Forecasting & Balance
- Trend Prediction: Utilize historical data to forecast volume spikes and seasonal surges (e.g., retail peaks or harvest seasons).
- Network Equilibrium: Identify regional imbalances (truck surpluses vs. load deficits) and collaborate with the sales team to secure backhaul freight that repositions assets toward high-demand zones.
Execution & Driver Success
- Precision Planning: Assign loads based on real-time constraints, including Hours of Service (HOS), driver proximity, and home-time requirements.
- Deadhead Elimination: Relentlessly reduce "empty miles" through strategic routing and backhaul integration.
- Crisis Management: Act as the primary "re-planner" when variables change, navigating equipment breakdowns, weather events, or port strikes with agile rerouting.
Carrier Procurement & Relations
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify and vet high-performance third-party carriers to supplement our internal fleet.
- Negotiation: Master the spot market and contract rates to ensure brokered loads maintain healthy margins.
- Performance Analytics: Use data-driven scorecards to monitor carrier safety and on-time performance.
Systems & Data Integrity
- TMS Mastery: Maintain real-time accuracy within our TMS (Qargo), ensuring truck locations, driver status, and load updates are flawless.
- KPI Ownership: Monitor and report on critical health metrics, including Operating Ratio, Revenue per Mile, and Tender Acceptance Rates.
We expect you to have:
- The Mindset: A self-starter who treats their region like their own business. You are as comfortable talking to a driver as you are analyzing a spreadsheet.
- The Tech Stack: Experience with modern TMS (Qargo preferred) and a high level of comfort using AI tools and algorithmic routing platforms.
- The Skills: Strong understanding of logistics operations, HOS regulations, and freight pricing.
- Analytical prowess: The ability to see the "story" in the data and act on it.
- Negotiation chops: You know how to secure the best rates in a volatile market.
- The Experience: 6+ years in regional planning, freight brokerage, or carrier operations optimization.
This is a full-time position based onsite in Kearny, NJ. You will be part of a truly diverse, high performing team with a common passion for sustainability and making things happen in an innovative way. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually.
We are building a sustainable, autonomous, and electric future. As a Regional Planner, you are at the helm of this transition. If you are ready to move away from legacy spreadsheets and into the era of AI-integrated logistics, let’s talk.
