Climate Fund Managers (CFM) is a climate-focused blended finance investment manager operating across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. CFM raises and deploys blended climate finance funds, working in partnership to deliver climate-resilient solutions at scale and pace. With over USD 2 billion in assets under management and targeting an additional USD 6 billion, CFM’s private equity and private credit facilities address key areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, including renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy transmission, water and sanitation, and biodiversity and oceans infrastructure. CFM’s funds are supported by public and private sector organisations, with public capital deployed strategically to balance risk and mobilise private sector capital, enabling investment across the project lifecycle - from development to construction and operation.
Established in 2015, CFM is a joint venture between Dutch development bank FMO and Sanlam InfraWorks of the Sanlam Group of South Africa, with offices in The Hague, Cape Town, Singapore, and Bogotá.
Job Purpose
The Investor Relations Team is seeking a highly analytical and data driven Investor Reporting and Insights Analyst. This role offers a unique opportunity to join an established team to provide a strong emphasis on data analysis, reporting, and investor insights regarding CFM’s current funds once the investors are onboarded. The core focus of the role will be to support Investor Relations in Netherlands assisting senior professionals in the team to maintain relationships with the existing investors of CFM. The role may also involve supporting future climate relevant fund propositions, such as green hydrogen, biodiversity/forestry, resource/energy efficiency and sustainable cities, once investors are onboard.
The ideal candidate will support the preparation of quarterly and annual investor reports, including fund performance and portfolio updates, through data collection, visualization, and standardizing outputs. In addition, assist with defining requirements and implementation of Investor Relations-related IT tools to improve reporting processes, enhance data integration, and increase reporting accuracy and efficiency. This is a full-time opportunity in a unique and innovative scale-up environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Non-financial Investor reporting: ESG, Impact, and Operational Performance
- Prepare Non-Financial Investor Reports: Prepare quarterly, annual, bilateral, and fund-level investor reports by collating and presenting data on portfolio performance, valuation highlights, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics, asset-level developments, sustainability performance, impact KPIs, and operational updates.
- Coordinate with Internal Stakeholders: Engage with teams across the organization—including asset managers, finance, ESG, governance, and operations—to gather timely and comprehensive data needed to support complete, accurate, and consistent investor reporting.
Data Analytics, Systems, and Investor Reporting Support:
- Data Aggregation: Consolidate data from various internal sources to support accurate and timely investor reporting.
- Support the generation of insights on fund and asset performance, trends, and risks through dashboards or custom analyses, contributing to investor communications and reporting.
- Reporting Efficiency: Support the Investor Relations team in improving the quality and consistency of reporting outputs, including identifying opportunities to streamline recurring reporting tasks using tools like Excel, Power Point, Power BI, or similar.
- System Use & Coordination: Ensure effective use of IR-related systems and coordinate with relevant teams to support consistent data flows and reporting processes.
- Tool Customization: Assist in tailoring investor reporting tools and templates based on evolving investor needs and internal reporting standards.
- System Upgrades & Customization: support the investor relations team to customize reporting tools based on investor requirements.
Cross Functional Collaboration and Integration
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, New Ventures, ESG, IT, Technical Construction and Development (TECH), Structuring & Valuations, and Regional Investment & Portfolio Teams to enhance investor reporting by improving and supporting the automation of relevant
- Work closely with Investor Relations Manager and IT Data and Systems Manager to extract data from portfolio monitoring tools and build / monitor unified investor reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Investor Relations team and IT to optimise non-financial reporting to standardize KPIs across funds using centralized data system.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is advantageous.
- 2-4 years of experience in investor reporting, investor relations, financial analysis, consulting or a related role within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or investment sectors.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a focus on reporting and data interpretation
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insights for investors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of renewable energy markets and infrastructure investment.
- Experience with ESG reporting and sustainability metrics.
- Experience in CRM systems and investor relations platforms.
- Competence in spreadsheet / data base applications (i.e. advanced Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM data software.
