To support our growing activities across Europe, we are seeking a creative, dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Officer to expand external reach.
Purpose of the role
The Communications Officer will be responsible for growing Cleantech for Europe’s voice in Brussels and throughout Europe, providing all-round communications support to the team. The Officer will play a key role in expanding an engaging presence across our digital platforms, drive media engagement and supporting world-class events and convenings.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of communication strategies and campaigns across multiple channels;
  • Manage and improve CFE’s social media accounts and website, including content planning, production, and publication;
  • Manage internal and external communications across the organisation;
  • Maintain and update a media contact list and help manage relationships with journalists and media outlets and monitor media coverage and maintain a record of press mentions;
  • Act as the main point of contact with the design agency, coordinating the production of visual assets in line with CFE brand guidelines;
  • Proofread and final review of internal and external documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy;
  • Assist in preparing newsletters and email campaigns;
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications and materials;
  • Assist in organising high-level events, conferences, and public engagements.
Requirements (you don’t need all of these to apply)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional European languages are a plus);
  • Jack of all trades: ability to think creatively, start new communications channels, tinker until you make it work,
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in communications or public affairs, preferably in a European context, with a proven affinity with EU policymaking processes;
  • Interest in cleantech, sustainability and climate/energy policy an asset;
  • Proven experience managing social media and websites (LinkedIn, X/Twitter);
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • A self-starter and team player willing to integrate a small, dynamic team with the opportunity to have an immediate impact;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (project management tools are a plus);
