We are looking for a Mechatronic Engineer for the Gothenburg office:
Role Overview:
As a Mechatronic Engineer at Cellink Bioprinting AB, you will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and optimization of lab instrumentation and automation systems. Leveraging your expertise in this field, you will contribute to enhancing our technological capabilities and driving operational efficiency. For the following 'Key Responsibilities' and 'Required Skills and Qualifications,' we are looking for someone with preferably 5 years, or at least 3 years of industry work experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and integrate mechatronic systems for lab instrumentation and automation applications, ensuring functionality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical insights to support project planning and execution.
- Implement control algorithms and systems for real-time operation and automation processes.
- Perform system integration, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Optimize robotic and lab automated systems for performance improvements, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during system deployment and operational phases.
- Run thorough root cause analysis to identify and address underlying issues during the development process.
- Stay curious about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in mechatronics, robotics, and lab automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven industrial work experience in designing and developing mechatronic systems for lab instrumentation and automation applications.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java for embedded systems and control applications.
- Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Altium, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Knowledge of control systems, sensors, actuators, and electromechanical systems.
- Practical experience with electronic systems, including design, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Robotic kinematics, including forward and inverse kinematics, and experience with implementing these principles in practical applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with PLC programming, industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience in designing lab automated systems or robotic solutions in biotechnology.
- Understanding of AI/ML applications in robotics and laboratory automation.
- Experience in designing 3D printers, bioprinters or other additive manufacturing instruments.
