What we do at Blykalla
Blykalla is a Swedish deep-tech company at the forefront of the nuclear industry, pioneering the development of small modular reactors that provide clean, safe, and reliable energy. Thanks to lead-cooling, we achieve high safety in a very compact format, allowing for a simple and cost-effective design that can be mass-produced. Our unique reactor design will provide safe and green baseload energy that perfectly complements solar and wind power.
What you’ll get to do
Blykalla is developing and commercializing lead-cooled Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to provide safe, reliable, and fossil-free energy. Our mission is to deploy advanced nuclear technology that enables the decarbonization of industry and supports long-term energy security. As we advance toward deployment of our first commercial reactors, we are expanding our electrical engineering capability to develop and own the electrical architecture of our plants. While key Balance of Plant (BoP) systems will be designed with engineering partners, Blykalla will retain ownership of the overall electrical design philosophy, requirements, system architecture, and integration.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development of the electrical power system architecture for Blykalla's lead-cooled SMR plants.
This role combines hands-on power system engineering with technical leadership and systems integration. You will be responsible for developing the electrical design basis for the plant, performing and overseeing power system studies, defining requirements for external engineering partners, and ensuring that delivered designs meet Blykalla's technical, operational, safety, and licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Electrical System Architecture
Develop the overall electrical system architecture for Blykalla's reactor plants.
-
Define the plant distribution philosophy covering:
Grid connection
