About the role

Following our successful expansion into the U.S. and continued growth across Europe, we are seeking a Head of Clinical to help drive our Scientific/Clinical function from our Barcelona hub. Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Officer, this person will play a critical role in leading Biorce's clinical workstream: ensuring strategy is executed with rigour, pace, and scientific credibility as we scale.

Who We're Looking For:

A senior clinical leader who thrives at the intersection of science, strategy, and execution. Someone with deep clinical expertise, a track record of managing director-level teams, and the credibility to represent the function both internally and externally. This person should be equally at home shaping governance frameworks and engaging KOLs as they are rolling up their sleeves in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical workstream within the Scientific/Clinical department. Own day-to-day clinical direction, working closely with the CSO to execute integrated strategy with rigour and pace.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing clinical team. Provide direct line management to Clinical Director-level reports and wider clinical staff, setting clear expectations, supporting professional growth, and building a team culture rooted in scientific credibility and accountability.
  • Own clinical quality and governance. Establish and maintain the standards, frameworks, and processes that ensure all clinical work meets the highest bar for accuracy, safety, and integrity.
  • Drive evidence generation and validation. Lead design and execution of validation studies, clinical evaluations, and evidence programmes that underpin the credibility of Biorce's products.
  • Serve as the department's senior day-to-day clinical expert. Provide clinical judgment on evidence standards, regulatory considerations, and clinical questions across the business.
  • Represent the Scientific/Clinical function externally. Engage with KOLs, professional forums, and clients as a senior spokesperson for the department, building relationships that strengthen Biorce's scientific reputation and inform its clinical thinking.
  • Collaborate across the business. Work as a close partner to Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Commercial teams, ensuring clinical insight is embedded in product decisions, go-to-market strategies, and customer engagements.
  • Stay at the frontier of relevant clinical science. Monitor the evolving evidence base, competitive clinical landscape, and emerging methodologies, synthesising intelligence that informs Biorce's clinical priorities in close collaboration with the CSO.

Requirements

Must-haves

  • Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent)
  • 15+ years of experience in clinical development and operations within pharma, biotech, or CRO settings
  • Proven experience managing senior clinical staff at director level or above
  • Deep familiarity with regulatory frameworks (ICH, FDA, EMA)
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to represent the function externally with clients, partners, and KOLs
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable operating in a fast-paced, early-stage environment

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in a healthtech AI and digital health setting
  • Scientific publication record and experience driving high-impact external scientific outputs
  • Additional qualifications in clinical research or regulatory affairs
  • Experience engaging directly with health authorities and supporting regulatory submissions
