Job Description:

As an Energy Sector Lead at Bezero, you will play a pivotal role in assessing the carbon effectiveness of energy projects. Leveraging your deep understanding of renewable energy technologies and carbon emissions, you will help us deliver accurate and reliable carbon ratings. Your responsibilities will also include managing and developing a team of analysts to ensure they contribute effectively to our mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of renewable energy technologies, including traditional (solar, wind, hydro, biomass, etc.) and emerging options (i.e., early retirement of coal-fired power plants, off-grid energy plants, BESS) .

  • Conduct in-depth technical assessments of energy projects, evaluating their environmental impact and compliance with relevant standards.

  • Analyze the economic viability of energy projects, considering factors such as development costs, operational expenses, and revenue streams.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and implementation of our rating methodologies for assessing the carbon effectiveness of energy projects.

  • Manage and develop a team of analysts, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality carbon ratings.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including energy project developers, investors, and policymakers.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on carbon emissions reduction strategies and carbon credit generation.

  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and meetings.

You will be our ideal candidate if:

  • You have a deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, including traditional and emerging options.

  • You are passionate about sustainable energy and committed to making a positive impact on the environment.

  • You have strong data analysis skills and are proficient in data analysis tools.

  • You have experience in the energy sector, VCM world, or a related field.

  • You have a proven track record of conducting in-depth viability analyses of energy projects.

  • You are an excellent communicator and can build strong relationships with clients and team members.

  • You are a strong leader and can effectively manage and develop a team.

  • You are able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience with carbon markets and voluntary carbon offsets.

  • Experience with energy related projects in diverse geographic regions, particularly in developing countries.

  • Familiarity with carbon emissions measurement and reporting standards.

  • Experience in the economics of the energy transition, including project development, financing, and strategic planning.
