Job Title: Country HR Manager

Location: Douala, Cameroon

Experience: 12+ years in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a leadership role

Qualification: MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Country HR Manager to lead the HR function in Cameroon. The role focuses on building strong people practices, ensuring compliance with local laws, and supporting business growth. Along with managing the full spectrum of HR, the position also involves handling expat workforce management, including onboarding, orientation, and support services for international employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the country HR strategy in line with global policies and local business needs.
  • Lead all HR operations including talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, compensation & benefits, and compliance.
  • Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning.
  • Manage expat workforce: oversee visa/work permit processes, relocation, onboarding, induction, and integration support.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and orientation for both local and expatriate employees, helping them settle into the organization and country.
  • Handle employee relations and provide guidance on conflict resolution and disciplinary matters.
  • Implement learning & development initiatives to build employee capabilities.
  • Monitor HR metrics, prepare reports, and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the workforce.
  • Manage HR service providers, vendors, and budgets effectively.
  • Coach, guide, and develop the HR team to ensure strong HR delivery.
  • Foster a unified company culture while respecting local cultural differences
  • Partner with business leaders, regional HR heads, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage cross-cultural teams and ensure effective communication across time zones.
  • Provide advisory to leadership on people-related risks and opportunities
