Job Description
Job location: Vipingo, Kilifi County, Kenya
Nationality: Kenyan
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee and manage all electrical works at our project site. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of electrical installations, compliance with engineering standards, adherence to safety protocols, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with KETRACO, KPLC, EPRA and other Kenyan electrical codes, including international standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Supervise and monitor all electrical construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with approved designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and execution of electrical works.
- Inspect electrical installations (power distribution, lighting, earthing, control systems, etc.) to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Provide technical support and guidance to on-site teams for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Review and verify electrical shop drawings, as-built drawings, and other related documentation.
- Liaise with the client, consultants, and project stakeholders to resolve technical queries and facilitate smooth project execution.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports on electrical works, highlighting risks, delays, and corrective actions.
- Monitor adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines at the project site.
- Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of electrical systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution of Kenya.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in electrical engineering supervision on construction or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and project execution processes.
- Familiarity with Kenyan building codes, electrical regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical design drawings and technical documents.
- Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Local Kenyan national preferred for long-term engagement.
