Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HSE Engineer for Kenya SEZ. The ideal candidate should have 5–8 years of relevant experience in industrial/infrastructure projects and must possess the required educational qualifications and certifications. The role involves ensuring adherence to all applicable HSE standards, risk mitigation, and promoting a strong safety culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor compliance with Kenya HSE laws, regulations, and best practices across the project.
  • Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure use of proper PPE and implementation of safe systems of work.
  • Lead incident/accident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and HSE inductions for workers and contractors.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure adherence to HSE standards.
  • Support ESG compliance reporting and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Maintain HSE documentation, permits, and registers in compliance.
  • Prepare periodic reports and dashboards for review by HSE/ESG Head and management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering / occupational health or related discipline.
  • Must hold valid HSE certifications and licenses.
  • 8–10 years of relevant HSE experience in infrastructure, industrial parks, or construction projects.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Swahili is an added advantage.
