The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically capable Sustainability Data Analyst to join our research team. The role will suit someone with strong analytical skills, solid data processing capabilities, and a passion for sustainability. You will help build scalable emissions calculation infrastructure, streamline data pipelines, and contribute to product features that support real-world decarbonisation.
You’ll work cross-functionally across the product, customer, and data teams, building robust and repeatable systems that integrate sustainability knowledge with engineering rigour.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver complex data analytics and ETL projects with minimal oversight (e.g. emission factor ingestion pipelines and emissions model development).
- Design, test, and implement scalable emissions calculation methods in line with GHG Protocol and other relevant standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL pipeline issues proactively, collaborating with product engineering teams where needed.
- Apply scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL) to clean, transform, and analyse data at scale.
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Footprinting Services to gather requirements and improve project delivery.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner across departments.
- Identify areas for process and product improvement and help implement them.
- Lead internal training or knowledge-sharing sessions on sustainability topics.
About You
The successful candidate will have experience in:
- Strong data processing & analysis skills: proficiency in Python and/or SQL, and confident working with data pipelines
- Demonstrated project ownership and delivery
- Strong attention to detail with a track record of spotting and resolving data issues
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to distil complex topics to non-experts
Nice-to-Haves:
- Background in environmental science and sustainability.
- Experience with emissions calculations or LCA approaches.
- Familiarity with LCA software (SimaPro, openLCA, etc.)
